Update Galaxy S GT I9000 with Jellybean 4.2.2 Custom ROM Firmware – Guide

Procedure to Update Galaxy S GT I9000 with Jellybean 4.2.2 Cyanogen MOD 10.1 RC2 Firmware:

  • After placing the two files in your Galaxy S, disconnect and turn Off your phone so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode.

After following all the above instructions, and installed Jellybean, my phone keep booting into CWM-recovery mode. I’ve removed the battery to redo all necessary but still got stuck at recovery mode. Please help!

I am currently running on my I9000:
    Android ver.: 4.2.2
    Baseband Ver.: I9000XXJVT
    Kernel Ver. : 3.0.70-gb429ec3
    picky-ghost@cyanogenmod #1
    Tue Apr 16 16:36:34 PDT 2013
    Cyanogenmod Ver. : 10.1-20130416-EXPERIMENTAL-galaxysmtd-M3
    Build date : Tue Apr 16 16:22:01 PDT 2013
    Build number : cm_galaxysmtd-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39
    eng..20130416.162135 test-keys

I really like it so far. Is there any difference between that and this update? Is it worth while for me to update?
Thanks! Keep up with the good work!

When I try to install update from SD card, it writes after verification that “E: failed to verify whole-file signature” and then it aborts the installation process. What should I do? I rooted XXJW4 successfully but I can’t continue the process… Help me!

Everything works perfectly but I’m having a heating problem which ultimately drains battery very quickly.

Hoping for your any suggestion/help on this.

And thank you for your continuous update/information on Android world.

I’ve been using this ROM for about 5 days, and it’s excellent. Battery ok, never crashed and no problems with ‘over heating’. I’ve never before come across firmware that’s so stable. Practically perfect in every way. 🙂
