tried to apply the update but after the installation, think which didn’t finish, got the message assert failed run program (“/tmp/updater.sh”)==0 and get strucked after removing and reinserting the battery returns to gingerbread

Tirami Slim (assert failed: run_program(“/tmp/updater.sh”) problem here too. Device is rooted and running 2.3.6 XXJW4
after it starts to update it stops, got the same message. And tried it again but no luck. Cannot installs this, also the touch screen goes awry. i just install back to xxjvu.

Well…I got it installed and it rocks that i can change themes.
i was on F4K MOD custom firmware. all i had to do was Reboot in recovery mode
Wipe data/factory….
Wipe partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
reboot Recovery
Install from SD
browsed to file…
Then just follow the Prompts.

Ok..i did it. Didnt had to do twice and i didnt get any error messages.
jx followed the tutorial and everything it working.
I went to advance to wipe DALVIK CACHE too. maybe u guys should do that and try again.

Directly from the GB firmware, the Tirami Slim ICS cannot be installed. Those who are on any GB firmware should first update with any ICS ROM like F4K. Then only this updating is succeeded. The XDA site also says so.

While updating the rom…im getting many errors…..instead of yellow lines …im getting red line…..and this rom sucks like the others…..

Yes I also had the same experience. But I succeeded after many failed attempts. I was on GB XXJVU. In order to get the smooth installation of this update, I think, it is necessary to be on any ICS firmware. Being on GB XXJVU rooted, I installed first the F4K MOD ICS 4.0.4, then did factory rest, wiped cache and dalvik cache and applied the Tirami Slim ICS ROM successfully. It is so far running smoothly with my device!

Those who find problem in installing this RoM. You can update this ROm from FK4mod custom Rom.
Reboot to recovery
wipe to factory reset
wipe cache partition
advance- wipe Dalvik cache
reboot to recovery
Install from Zip–Browse for Zip(Tiramislim)
Install
It opens the Installation screen after some time.
Select Demon installation( hope it is option number 3)
Then select the prompts.
Select default installation when it prompts.
Finally select the install tab to get install.
When i tried to install by XXJV4 i get the same error which is mentioned by others and was not able to select the option while installion by the screen. I had to do it by the side keys. Now you can do by the screen itself.

It was really hard to install, because the touch screen is not working well.
After installing this rom, my phone can’t start up.

Flashed the file successfull on galaxy s gti 9000 but unable to connect/search for mobile networks. netherlands telephone is unlocked. followed the procedure. Also tried other ICS4 flash image, same result. how can I update my modem once flashed to solve that last problem? ICS4 looks very slick….

kindly clear all the data in your Galaxy S from the recovery mode and then follow the instructions of XXJVU to update the same
