How to Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Cyanogen Mod 10 Preview Firmware

Please note that this is not an Official version of Cyanogen mod 10 and very soon it will be available for the devices. Unfortunately there is no ETA on by when there is an official firmware update of Jellybean 4.1. Since this update is still in its initial stages, there will be some bugs and the same will be fixed in the coming days. In the coming days, there will be a stable release of CM 10 update which will rope in all the features and looks of Jellybean 4.1.1 firmware in your Galaxy Note N7000.

Don’t use KIES to back up the data as KIES doesn’t support the custom ROM firmwares. With the help of below mentioned steps, you can easily backup the same. Once you have backed up all the below mentioned things, you need to move all the target files in your computer.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Download Drivers for Galaxy Note from here. 32 bit (x86) Windows  |   64-bit (x64) Windows. Minimum battery charge left in the phone should be at least 50% so as to ensure that device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update. Also, disable all the security suites installed in your device so as to make sure that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored with the help of below steps.

Enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” after which turn off your phone so as to enter the phone in the recovery mode.
