Galaxy S ICS New logoThe first build of Jellybean 4.2 has arrived for Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 smartphone after the reports earlier came in that Jellybean 4.2.1 is headed for AOSP development. So, as a result the first build is out and in this article we gonna be checking out on how you can actually install this in your Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 smartphone. Please note that this is not an Official firmware released by Samsung and Samsung won’t be coming out with any Official Jellybean versions officially due to hardware limitations. But not to worry as developers are sweating it out to give you the best Jellybean 4.2 experience on your Galaxy S GT I9000 smartphone.

Please note that since this is a custom ROM firmware, there are some bugs which will be there but will be addressed in the coming update releases. The best part of this custom ROM is that it’s based on the latest Jellybean 4.2 and also all the apps are based on the Jellybean 4.2.1 firmware. Quick Pre Requisites:

  • Over the process of installing this update, there is a probability that the data might get lost or corrupted, so with the help of below mentioned steps you will have to create a backup of all your data. Don’t backup with the help of ROM Manager or with KIES. Don’t backup the data with the helo of ROM Manager as it may brick the device for which we should not be held responsible.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging, ensure that the USB debugging option is ticked. Also, make sure that the battery life is not less than 40% as this may turn off the device in the middle of firmware update.

    Hey guys, please don’t use the word OFFICIAL Jellybean Firmware in big bold titles, then say it is not official firmare, and that there will never be official Jellybean firmware twice in the following paragraphs.

    please l have installed android 4.2.1. in my samsumg galaxy i9000.the problem is that after is no more google but android.dont have any market or google store. to reinstalled all the app i have bought.
    l updated it from android 4.0.3 which was google.how can l download app to my device thanks

    Please help me… I have installed Jellybam which suppose to be Android 4.2 for my Samsung Galaxy S2. Everything went well to the end but when phone rebooted it shows jellybean rocket flying and flying and nothing else is happening for hours and hours. All i have been able to do is reboot again. What should I do???

      Clearly you applied the wrong update on a wrong device. This is for GT-I9000 users only. Your phone is a GT-I9100. To fix this, you must reinstall the OS with the correct ROM. Find it on this website

    WiFi is not working in my device Galaxy S GT i9000 after installation of jellybean 4.2. I tried the old one WiFi fix but it did not work. Wi Fi is not opening.

      even official firmware has bugs, so that doesn;t mean that you should not update with the same as well
