Procedure to Update T Mobile Galaxy S2 T989 with Official ICS Android 4.0 Firmware:
- Download the ICS Android 4.0 firmware package and Odin in your computer. Once downloaded, extract the firmware package and Open Odin in your computer.
- Up next, turn Off your Galaxy S2 T989 device so that it can be entered in the Download mode
- Download Mode can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which you will get to see a green robot indicating that the device has entered in the download mode.
- Once the phone is entered in the download mode, connect your device to the computer while keeping the Odin opened. Once connected, you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow.
Note: If the ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
- Install the USB Drivers in your computer &
- Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
- Click on “PDA” to select “T989UVLE1_T989TMBLE1_T989UVLE1_HOME.tar.md5” and click on Start to start the process of firmware update. Once the device is updated, the device will be restarting.
- Disconnect the device and turn Off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Recovery mode in Galaxy S III can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
- In recovery mode, you need to select “wipe cache” and clear cache by choosing the respective options
Tip: If the device gets into the boot loop mode or refuses to turn ON, then re insert the battery and follow the instructions from the start.
