How to Update Galaxy S3 GT I9300 with Official Jellybean 4.1.1 XXDLIB Firmware

S3 LogoOfficial Jellybean 4.1.1 firmware for Samsung Galaxy S3 GT I9300 is here and we will be checking out on how you can easily update with the latest XXDLIB firmware. Though there are no significant changes when compared to earlier Jellybean builds but also the best part is that for all those who had issues pertaining to low battery issues and Wi Fi issues have been addressed. This update of XXDLIB firmware has been pushed to the unlocked International devices. Since this update is for all unlocked International devices, irrespective of the current firmware and country you are from, you can apply this update in your Galaxy S3 GT I9300 model.

Just in case if you wish to root the device, we will very soon be coming up with the article which will help you to root the device on the XXDLIB firmware.

Best Part: Applying this part won’t root the device in any manner, so the warranty is intact even if you apply this firmware update. Also, just in case if you are on any of the custom ROM firmware, after applying this update, the warranty can be reclaimed.

Disclaimer: Follow all the instructions mentioned in this article as if there is any damage caused due to not following instructions then we shall not be held liable or responsible. Just in case if you face any issues then we will try our level best to address the same.

Minimum charge left in your phone should be 40% or else the phone might get turned Off in the middle. From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging in your Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. Also, all the antivirus tools should be uninstalled

Also, with the help of below mentioned manual steps you will have to create a backup of all the data and not with the KIES tool. Don’t backup the data with the help of KIES tool as it doesn’t support the device if you are staying out of Poland.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Ensure that you have installed the Samsung USB Drivers and Latest KIES in your computer as these both will be required in the due course of this process. As of now this process will only work on the Windows based computers.

Now, assuming that you have followed all the above mentioned instructions you can now head over to the next step where we have summed up a detailed guide on how to apply this firmware update.

This update is draining my battery.
How can I roll back to earlier stable 4.0.1 version?

If rollback not possible, should I upgrade to latest 4.1.2 version? Which is the best and latest one for GS3>

Hey guys… i updated my S3 with this firmware.. no problem in doing so..
but I have noticed a change which is quite annyoing to me or say this feature has been messed in JB.
Previously there was a option for “Dock Mode” where you can setup your screen for phone when its conencted to Dock and you can play your songs via dock. But after JB update, it doesnt work anymore with Dock, it only does charging. I tried finding setting for Dock mode but could not find the setting which I did when phone had ICS 4.0.4 ( I am in UAE and using a international version of S3)

Also the driving mode is gone from notification bar.
