How to Update Galaxy S3 GT I9300 with XXLBH4 Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware

Jellybean LogoSamsung Galaxy S III smartphone can now be easily updated with the latest Jellybean 4.1 firmware update, it says it all that SAMSUNG’s promise of coming out with the Jellybean was true this time considering the fact that it took way longer than expected time in rolling out ICS for its last year’s flagship model Galaxy SII. So to make things simple, we will be checking out on how you can upgrade the firmware of your Galaxy S3 in few simple steps but before that you will have to go through all the below mentioned instructions. The all new firmware which is rolled out is the latest XXLBH4. The best part of this update is that universal search feature is being inducted again in this which was removed in the last firmware version.

Please be informed this all new firmware is the leaked one and not the official firmware. As of now there is no estimated time on by when this firmware will be rolled out officially but as in when it comes we will update here on androidadvices.com. Also, since this update is still in the beta stages, there might be some bugs which will be addressed in the coming days with the new versions getting released. If you come across any bugs, do report in the comments section. Just in case if you have already rooted the device, then you need not again. To check on whether the device is rooted or not, you will have to download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store.

  • With the help of below steps, manually backup all the data as there is a chance that the data in your device may get corrupted. Don’t use KIES to back up the data at this point of time as this update is not yet pushed via KIES and also KIES doesn’t detect the beta firmwares.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Note down the current firmware in your device from the path “Settings > About Phone” so that you can revert back to the same as in when you want to. Disable all the antivirus tools in your computer as these tools generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.

So once you are done with all the above mentioned instructions, you can head over to the next page where we have summed up a detailed tutorial on how to upgrade your Galaxy SIII with the latest firmware of Jellybean 4.1 update.
