How to Update Galaxy S3 Mini with Lollipop Android 5.0 – Guide

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Android smartphone can now be updated with the latest version of Lollipop 5.0 Android firmware. So let’s check out how you can install this latest version of Lollipop in your Galaxy S3 mini by following the simple guide which we will be checking out in the due course of this article.

  • Once downloaded, connect your phone to the computer. Place the two downloaded zip files in your device and disconnect the device from computer.

    Pradeep Neela,

Hi, greetings from Indonesia. I upgraded my rooted Samsung S3 mini to lollipop last week and I’ve had some problems ever since, starting from some applications that won’t start, especially those downloaded from aptoide and also I cannot move apps to SD card they way I used to do in KitKat. Are these normal? My internal memory is used up and the phone becomes lagging.

    Thank you

All this did was reset my phone to factory settings. I noticed that you say “Let’s head over to the next step where we have summed up the detailed list of procedure which will help you root the device.” but there seems to be no next step. I assumed rooting procedure was in the AOSP build, but I guess not. Can you help with the ‘root’ procedure on a Samsung S3mini that has been updated to 4.4.2?

There are 2 upgrades, first being Lolipop and the second, Google Play store. In the video one is shown. Do I continue with the second one next before rebooting, or after rebooting again I resrat the procedure as outlined just to install the play store? Or when I select one file does the second file also get installed along? Please advice

The command, install zip from sd card, did not appear for me! I tried many times. Ultimately I was able to go back to factory reset not knowing how I did that!
