Update Galaxy S3 with Paranoid Android 3 Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware – Guide

For a pure Android experience on your Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, we will in the due course of this article will be checking out on how to update the device with the Refreshed version of Paranoid Android custom ROM firmware which comes with the new set of theme and user interface which can be checked out in the form of screen captures. This version of firmware comes with the jellybean 4.2.2 firmware and comes with all the goodness of user interface, apps support etc. There are many custom ROM firmwares for Galaxy S3, but this Paranoid 3 version comes with stability and hell lot of other hybrid options and preferences.

Quick Pre Requisites:

  • Not with the KIES or ROM Manager, create a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned manual steps.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • As this is the custom ROM firmware, you need to make sure that
  • Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Make sure that your Samsung Galaxy S3 is left with the minimum of 40% battery or else the device might just get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.

    I am from South Africa and have just updated my Sg3 to a 4.1.2 baseband ver 19300xxella can it be updated to aranoid Android 3 Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware?

    Is this Rom, in your opinion better than the Xperia z Rom, previous to it, as I’m running the Xperia ported Rom and loving it, so before I go changing what I love I thought I would ask your opinion first. Regards.

      yes it will support, the only condition is that you will have to apply on the Unlocked phone

      root the device and then you will have to install the custom recovery image with the help of ROM Manager to re apply the process of rooting

    learnt it the hard way..
    Awesome ROm.. Issue is that I have a 64GB Class 10 micro sd.. that only works on Stock Roms..
    Is there a work around for this.
    All custom roms say that card is damaged but it works fine the instant I install a stock rom..

        It doesn’t.. I can assure you that I have tried over 25-30 ROMs and none of them support a 64 GB mem card. Only the stock ROMs do.. I don’t know what’s the difference.. Probably just the card reader drivers are missing or generic in the custom ROMs.. Plz let me know if there is anything I can try..
