How to Update Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi Fi P7510 with Official ICS 4.0 Firmware

SGT LogoSamsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Note is here with the latest ICS Android 4.0 firmware version but for all those who are having the former version of Galaxy Tab that is the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi Fi P7510 version, you need not get disheartened as in the due course of this article we will be checking out on how you can easily update your device with the ICS firmware and that too officially. As of now this update hasn’t been officially rolled out and is being slowly pushed starting with the select devices. Over a period of this article we will be checking out on what are the pre requisites you will have to follow along with which we will also be checking out on a detailed guide on how to upgrade your Galaxy Tab firmware with this firmware.

The firmware version of this ICS build is UELPL and also this update comes as with lot of bug fixes and with major User interface changes which fall in place with the ICS update. Just in case if you have already rooted the device then the root access will be revoked and the warranty will be restored. As of now there is no update on by when there will be an official update of Jellybean 4.1 firmware update. Please note that this update should only be applied to the P7510 model and not to P7500 or any other similar model. You can get the model number info from the path “Settings > About Tablet”.

All the data in your device will have to be backed up so as to ensure that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored with the help of below mentioned steps. You can also use KIES to backup all your data but it’s preferred to back up the data manually.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > KIES Mode”, enable the KIES Mode in your device. Also, ensure that the battery left in the device is at least 40% so as to make sure that the device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update. Also, disable all the antivirus tools as well as firewall tools in your PC as these tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.

    I followed your instructions however after the rom is downloaded I get stuck on the boot screen.I cannot get into receovery mode but can still enter download mode.However my tab is not recognized by my computer any more via odin
    what can I do.Please help

    I may have missed something here, but how does one “reinsert the battery” on a P7510? Mine is a GT-P7510, is that different to the one referred to in this article?
