The Atrix 4G is my first smartphone. I chose it because it had received good reviews and because it is made by Motorola.

Hi, I am trying to update my HTC Incredible S 2.2 but am having no success. I received the notification a about a month or 2 ago (australia) and i didnt bother to try and download the update until just a few days ago. The phone downloads the update no worries, but when i ask it to ‘install now’ it does its thing for a little bit and then restarts the phone. However upon restarting I am greeted with a screen that says ***System Warning*** Hboot 1.13.000 etc and i have a range of fastboot, hboot, power down, recovery, etc options. No matter what option I select (except the factory reset) I cant seem to get off this screen without asking the phone to ‘power down’.

When i manually turn the phone back on again it starts up as per normal with no update applied. I then receive the notification that an update is ready for my phone and i have to download it all over again. I have tried this several times now, including using the internet pass through option to download the update but i am still presented with the same system warning screen.

What is going on here? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

Hi, I’m an Indian. My son gifted me an HTC Is bought in Hong Kong. Will I receive my gingerbread update along with Indians? Or will I receive it when it is received in Hong Kong? I don’t know if it is already received in Hong Kong. When I go to Hong Kong help center I read that a new version of sync is available but the update is still to be expected. Mine is a vivo. Will someone knowledgeable respond soon?

I upgraded to 2.3.3 easily by following directions. (I’m in Canada). I have my phone password protected, however. Since the upgrade, whenever I power down for the night and start up the next morning, the phone starts up, but won’t take my password until I reset it. Is this an issue with 2.3.3?

I also upgraded my Swype Beta from 3.6 to 3.25 (! not a typo) the same day – my bad for doing two upgrades the same day 🙁

Turning fastboot off seems to cure the problem, but I miss it terribly – my old HTC Touch with Windows Mobile used to take a couple of minutes to boot.

I’m having issues with text messaging with the new update. Every message i start, if i hit back space anytime throughout the message, it randomly goes to ‘delete messages by section’. Once i hit cancel, it takes me to the top of my conversation. This is extremely frustrating when it happens every new message. Is this happening to anyone else?!

    Hi Neal,

is the update for the incredible S available in India ? I am going to purchase an Incredible S. Would htc have pre loaded the update ? or would i have to do so myself after the purchase ?

Also, with the abysmal 3G performance here , and i not having a wifi connection access, is there any other way to officially update the phone if required ?

I owned an HTC Incredible S last month, which I very conveniently could update it to gingerbread; however I gave that phone to my brother. I got myself another HTC IS, which I’ve been trying to update but it jus wont. I’ve tried everything possible, but its surprising that it does not update at all, it jus keeps saying there is no update for your phone.
