This all new update is dubbed as 3.32.401.5 OTA which ropes in the goodness of ICS Android 4.0 release. As of now this firmware only supports the devices which are on the stock firmware. If you are on any of the custom ROM Firmwares, then you need to roll back your device firmware to the stock one. Data in your htc sensation should be backed up with the help of below steps so as to make sure that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored easily. Also, don’t make use of HTC Sync to back up the data.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log -Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
Minimum battery life should be 60% plus so as to make sure that phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update. If you are on the custom ROM firmware or say on the rooted firmware, then once you apply this update, the root access will be revoked.
Note: If you are on the custom ROM Firmware then you need to use the 1.50.401.1 RUU to get back to stock but you HAVE to leave the phone S-OFF. CID can be whatever you had if you are running x.xx.401.x when you got it new but if you’ve flashed the RUU coming from another build then set yours to HTC__001 before starting
