Procedure to Update HTC Wildfire S with Cyanogen Mod 10 Firmware:
- Download the HTC Wildfire S Cyanogen MOD 10 Firmware Package & Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, place these two zip files in your device. Ensure that you are not placing the files deep into the device. Once you place the files in your device, disconnect the device and turn off the same s that it can be entered in the recovery mode via boot loader mode.
- The Boot loader mode in HTC Wildfire S can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then try to enter into the boot loader mode again with the help of above mentioned method. Just in case if the ROM Manager is installed, you can enter by selecting the option of “Reboot into Recovery mode” in the ROM Manager app.
- Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Cyanogen MOD 10 Firmware Package & Google Apps Package which you placed in the device. After selecting the zip package, it will take around 4 – 5 minutes for applying this update. Ensure that you are placing the files in the same order as mentioned above.
- Once the Cyanogen mod 10 firmware is updated successfully, you now need to select “++++Go Back++++” and “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode. To check on whether the device is updated with this update or not from the path “Settings > About Phone”
Note: Just in a rare case if your HTC Wildfire S device refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the HTC Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from the start.
