Update LG Nexus 4 with Jellybean 4.2.2 Paranoid Custom ROM Firmware – Guide

APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging, ensure that the USB debugging option is ticked. Also, minimum charge left in your device should be more than 40% or else there is a risk of device getting turned off in the middle of firmware update.

So assuming that you have already rooted the device, you can follow the instructions mentioned below for applying the Paranoid Custom ROM firmware in your Nexus 4.

Procedure to Update LG Nexus 4 with Paranoid Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware:

  • Now, disconnect the device and download the “ROM Manager” app from the PLAY Store and enter your phone in the Recovery mode. In recovery mode select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache so that all the cache data is wiped off from your device.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” and then choose the Jellybean 4.2.2 Paranoid zip package and then the Google Apps Package which you have placed in your phone. Once selected, you need to press the Power button to confirm the same.
  • It will take around 3 -4 minutes for applying the update and once the update is applied, the device will land back to the Recovery mode screen. In recovery screen, you will have to select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.

Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.
