How to Update Nexus S with JRO03H Jellybean 4.1 based Androxide Firmware

Nexus S LogoEver heard of a custom ROM firmware inspired from Chemistry? Then here comes an all-new custom ROM firmware based on the latest Jellybean 4.1.1 firmware of the version of JRO03H for your Nexus S device. Please note that this is not an Official firmware released by Samsung or Google but is customized to deliver the best of the performance. All thanks to the XDA recognized developer HAKA who has come up with this custom ROM firmware. Since this firmware is the custom Rom firmware, there might be some bugs but most of the bugs have been addressed. This custom ROM firmware is called as Androxide.

In the last few days we saw on how you can install the latest Jellybean 4.1 version of firmware in Nexus S along with few other custom ROM firmware. This custom ROM firmware can only be applied on the rooted devices, to check on whether your Nexus S is rooted or not, you will have to download “Root Checker” app from Google PLAY Store. If it’s rooted, then download and flash the Clock Work Mod recovery by downloading the app called “ROM Manager” from Google PLAY Store.

All the data in your Nexus S smartphone will have to be backed up so as to make sure that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t use any sorts of PC Suites for backing up the data as it doesn’t support the beta / custom firmwares.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Minimum charge left in your device should be 50% so as to make sure that the device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update. USB Debugging Mode will have to be turned ON from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. All the security suites in your computer should be turned Off or uninstalled as these interrupt the process of firmware update.
