How can I install themes on Samsung Galaxy I5510? I downloaded theme files (.sis) on phone directly but unable to start the installation process.

Msg – No application can perform this action?

.sis is not supported by Android phones, you need to install files with .apk extension! there are nothing called “themes” in Android, in Android you need to install Custom ROMs to beautify your phone!

I did it yesterday. I update my Samsung Galaxy I5510 to the Arabic Firmware. I was worry when I what to do it but at the end I did it. It successfully done.

But there are many important parts missing on the instruction above:

    Part 1
After I followed all the instruction, I run the Odin tool and I connect my phone to my laptop via USB cable and waiting to complete the driver installation, here Windows 7 says: Driver didn’t install correctly and the COM Port Mapping block didn’t turn into yellow color. I tried it in another laptop but same message. After I researched via Internet I figure it out that I need to install another software which is (SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86.exe) to define all the Samsung drivers on Windows platform (I have this software but I don’t know how to post it). After I installed this software and did the all steps from the beginning, Now it does work and Windows 7 detect my phone driver and the COM Port Mapping block turned into yellow color and complete the update.

    Part 2
I should run the phone on recovery mode and do the wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. The hard part was: how to use the phone keyboard to select the option. I didn’t know at the first time and I couldn’t do it and then I turned my phone OFF an ON, many options wasn’t in there specially the Contact and the Messaging, they disappear, then I turned the phone OFF and ON again on recovery mode and beginning to try each key until I figure it out how to do it. After that, all the options and icons appear, and I changed the Language to Arabic.

    Part 3
Everything was perfect except one thing: it doesn’t type the Arabic characters correctly, it was separately, it didn’t merge the character. so Like (رائد) it was (دئار), so then I said: the Arabic font which comes with this firmware is incorrect and I was right. I went to the Android Market and installed (Dr.Ben0x Arabic Fonts), of course after I rooted my phone cause this app needs rooted phone and then install the font and restart the phone, Now when I typing a message or anything shows correctly.

I want to comment those things to get the users who would like to update to this firmware knowledge about those issues.

Now My phone work in Arabic platform without any issue, it is Awesome. This is my first time seeing Android phone supporting Arabic Language perfectly.

    Thank you guys
