How To Update Samsung Galaxy Ace GT S5830 to Gingerbread 2.3.4 XXKPH Firmware

however i had trouble in clearing the cache. the last step mentioned because i dnt get the screen shown in the video ,rather i get a static screen with some mode mentioned in it. Please help me on the same…Also the unlocking of the home screen still looks like my froyo ,but as i have in gingerbread its a slide on the screen rite. Any way to change that.

No i am not able to enter into the recovery mode . it goes it to some other mode and shows the samsung logo and some chars..

Just put your Ace off.. while pressing ONLY the Home-Button put your Ace on with the Power Button as usually.. now you should enter Recovery Mode

Try to reduce the level of encryption on your network. Not wpa2 but wpa, or something…
I am not what the issue was, but now Wi-Fi is working fine using WPA2. I did not do anything. Maybe it just takes longer to connect.

i upgraded my ace to gingerbread 2.3.4 yesterday, but after running for some time, i noticed that the touch is not responding accurately. specially, when i am texting on the virtual qwerty.., i press a key on one part f the screen and some other key also responds without getting touched… this happens at times, not always, but everytime i am texting.
can’t figure out the prob.
as no one else has ever had a complaint like this, i believe.

Also after two days of usage after the update… these are the problems that i faced. i am not able to make a call to silent when a call comes using the volume key which i could do earlier and also as mentione by shivanjan the keypad is not working accurately. Please edit your tutorial on how to enter recovery mode in Galaxy ACE .Its different from what you have provided in the article. You have provided the correct method it in another article of yours . I could clear the cache after following the other link mentioned below
You will have to switch ON your device in the recovery Mode which can be done by holding the Middle button and then Power ON the device by pressing the Power ON button. to enter recovery mode in ACE

Guys to go into recovery mode you need to press Home key & power key. Navigate using the vol keys & select using home key. Hope this helps..

I have upgraded my Galaxy ACE as per your instructions. Only one problem, as per your given instructions, mobile is not going in to RECOVERY mode but, it is going in RAMDUMP mode.

yes in some cases as its a region specific issue!
Update went OK but default language on boot looked Polish or Russian so needed to goto locale settings. Also there is a strange icon in the control panel area… a letter ‘A’ with a red circle around it that does nothing. I guess it should launch an app that is missing or not relevant ?

no, there should not be any issues on the wifi front! you will have to check with your ISP for the same!
Great guide. First try at using Odin and worked without a hitch. Apart from Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe Cache partition menu guide (hold home button and power on for galaxy ace) no problems at all.

you either have to wait for the next version or you need to root the phone to remove it as these are stock apps!

Hi, I just successfully upgraded my Galaxy Ace to 2.3.4 version as per your instructions shared. However I realised that after upgrading, I face 2 problems:
1). The Home Menu is left with only 3 pages, instead of the original 4 or 5
2). Under the “Input Method”, the Chinese input option is gone.
3). My phone has become in some eastern european language. I can set it back to English, but some of the applications are in the same eastern european language.
My questions, how to rectify the above (especially no 2), or any way I can reverse the OS back to Android 2.2.1 version? Thanks.
Hi one more very important difference I just realized was that in the previous version, many applications downloaded can be saved onto the SD card automatically. But now it seems they are saved onto the phone internal memory and cannot be moved to SD card. This is important enough reason for me to want to reverse. Please advise. Thanks.

I hVe recently update my samsung ace gt s5830 from 2.2.1 to 2.3.4. Everything looking good till 5-6 hour but after that I found that my mobile is not communicating with computer on that port where it was working before. And on same port card reader was working. My kies version is 1.56.1 something.
So plz solve my problem. What is the probable cause of this problem and also tell me precaution?

you will have to update your KIES to KIES 2.0 as there are some missing drivers which will solve the issue after updating kies!
U r saying about kies updation but after updating the mobile till 5-6 hour it was works then what happen that this problem come.
And from where I can,download kies 2.0.
Presently computer is not detecting mobile.

Hi, got a question: one of the reasons for me to upgrade to Gingerbread, was the SIP functionality. I successfully upgraded to android 2.3.4 using your very useful tool – without any problem. But when I look under settings – Calls, I simply don’t see the ‘internet calls’ option. I supposed it could be blocked by the provider I got the phone from? Any way to get around this, or should it have been erased when I upgraded?

Actually I flashed this firmware to come from CyanogenMod to stock. Everything is working fine. But the csc is not set to my region. And so the kies is saying that this phone cannot be updated. I am from India. Where can I get the correct csc file?

I have a samsung galaxy ace that was running soooo awesomely until i did a software update xP now it runs 2.3.6 which I’m not liking as it drains my battery, has some tethering issues and a few other UI options i dont like.. How can i revert it back to my android 2.3.4 which i originally had since the day i bought the phone? I really loved it just the way it was … Perfect phone.. I’m having problems with connection my phone to work with Odin, it doesn’t detect it. I have it connected but the COM port mapping stays empty, my phone is turned on and not yet in download mode, does it have to? Sorry for the inconvience, I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting something stupid.
