Though there will be plenty and ample amount of updates for Galaxy Ace in the 2.3.4 Gingerbread series as depending upon the user’s requests as well as feedbacks, the version of 2.3.4 will be optimized to the best possible way and will be launched. Please note that you should only proceed for the updation process if and only if your device is S5830 Galaxy Ace unlocked version along with the Gingerbread 2.3.3 update or else your phone will be locked and also might get bricked. Ok, I flashed the KPN firmware and got boot loop.
I entered recovery mode by pressing Power + Menu button. Recovery gave me an error:

    Applying Multi-CSC
    Can’t access system/csc/xsg

So what I did was, Wipe Data and Wipe Cache Partition, and viola, it booted!

i just came from 2.2.1 froyo then updated to 2.3.4 gingerbread, is there ways just in case i dont like this version (somehow its the battery thingy, even i less play some games still drains a bit faster), how to get back or flash back to like this firmware 2.3.3??? somwhoe i see that kleis updated last moday, and maybe i think there is an update in firmware, unfortunately, kleis wont detect my firmware because of my used firmware…… so is there anyway to flash it back to 2.3.3 than going back to my original froyo 2.2.1???

        Hi Pradeep,

Its true that the package is corrupted, even for me i do get the same message saying the CRC (possible wrong password).

D:\Downloads\GalaxyACE_S5830_XWKPN_2.3.zip: CRC failed in the encrypted file GalaxyACE_S5830_XWKPN_2.3.3\S5830XWKPN_S5830XWKP6_S5830OXXKP7_HOME.tar (wrong password ?)

I had simillar issue with softpedia earlier for windows OS, later i found the package uploaded by them was found corrupted.

Could you please uploaded on a different location and share us the link please?

Am eagerly waiting for your new working upload.

Advance thanks for your help. 🙂

          Hi Pradeep,

let me give you little more explanation so you could understand our state.

Winrar was able to extract the other files expect for the tar file(one package) that seems to be corrupted. So it means that we use the correct password to extract.

Conculsion: tar file is corrupted. pls upload a new one.

hope the new S5830XXKPN has gingerbread theme. As I upgraded my Ace with XXKP8 (Russian firmware) that doesnt has gingerbread theme. i could still see the froyo theme but its 2.3.3 software.
          thank you.

Current version is 2.2.1.Should i go for the gingerbread update?? I mean what if it it gets locked somehow , how would i then unlock the set??
I don’t want to brick this set, becoz i love this set.

Also i would like to ask one question,if i set factory setting in my set, will it be locked?
    PLz answer

  39. Justin

    July 28, 2011 at 6:08 am

I’ve had to “download the same again” four separate times now; each time I try to extract the archive I get this error message: ! L:\GalaxyACE_S5830_XWKPN_2.3.zip: CRC failed in the encrypted file GalaxyACE_S5830_XWKPN_2.3.3\S5830XWKPN_S5830XWKP6_S5830OXXKP7_HOME.tar (wrong password ?)

The rest of the files (Cooper_v1.0.ops, S5570_Odin Multi Downloader v4.38.exe, SS_DL.dll, and Important Read Me.txt) extract perfectly after entering the password, only S5830XWKPN_S5830XWKP6_S5830OXXKP7_HOME.tar fails to extract. I’ve changed download locations, cleared my browser cache, downloaded through another browser. I’m left with the conclusion that your original archive is corrupted on your end.

the file has crc error or worng password
downloaded it twice and the same
the error appers when the unpacking reaches the tar file
