How to Update Samsung Galaxy FIT S5670 with Cyanogen Mod 9 ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware

Procedure to Update GALAXY FIT S5670 with Cyanogen Mod 9 ICS 4.0 Firmware:

  • Now, turn Off the device so that it can be then entered into the recovery mode.
  • The recovery mode in the Samsung Galaxy Fit s5670 can be entered by Holding Menu Button and then Power ON the device. If the device turns ON in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache which is there in your device.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” > “ICS CM9 Package for Galaxy mini S5570 Beta 7”. It may take up to 10 minutes to process the update file.

For Users Facing Force Close Errors:

  • Turn off your device so that it can then be entered in the recovery mode.
  • In recovery mode select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache after which select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” which will restart the Samsung Galaxy Fit s5670.

Tip: Due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.

    Leave white screen. mine booted, but took almost 5 mins. Would like my camera back tho 🙁

    I followed the all the instructions, but what i am left with now is a phone which only shows a white screen. What now! I tried rooting it, re-installing but nothing happened. Plz help! how can i install my gingerbread atleast

    when i am unlocking the mobile then it says Sorry! “The application Samsung Home(process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher)has stopped unexpectedly.plese try again.

      clear the cache from the recovery mode, it should be fixed!

    i tried it on my ROOTED galaxy fit S5670:
    i followed all the instructions…everything was okay…but after the installation…when i reboot…i ONLY get a blank WHITE SCREEN :(… i’ve tried clearing the cache & factory reset…then rebooting…NO GOOD…
    since it didn’t worked…i tried to go back to gingerbread…but in ODIN, after selecting OPS & one package,when i click start…it shows “CANNOT OPEN THE USB PORT. CODE 5″…but earlier this was working 🙁

    now i have no clue about what to do, and my warranty is also destroyed.
    PLEASE HELP! …

      by the way, i tried re installing ICS, now it shows
      “Error in/tmp/sideload package.zip”
      but earlier it at-least showed installation successful..
      pls help!

      Same wid me !! I followed each and every step … but ultimately i ended up wid a white screen … now i m back to Gingerbread …

      And btw Priyank, if ur phone isn’t a year old den u still got d warranty …

    The phone stays on white screen and can not do anything until you remove the battery. Just phone blocked. I tried several times. Do you have any ideas.

    Hi Pradeep, I have rooted my galaxy fit but i have put a very large font size through ROM manager app. now i cant access to my mobile bcz of large font size i can see only a part of desktop.I tried also factory reset..now tell me what to do to get normal font size as i cant able to access same application.plz revert soon.

    hi guys did the update followed all the steps as stated…. But no go when restarted my FIT it stuck forever by displaying a White Screen… Please do revert for the same…. Thanks & Regards :- Ravi D

    Is it possible to downgrade to older version if something goes wrong during upgrade to ics 4.0.3
