How to Update Samsung Galaxy FIT S5670 with Official Gingerbread DDKT1 2.3.6 Firmware
Seems like after a much wait here comes a huge respite for all the users of Samsung Galaxy FIT S5670 as in the due course of the article we will check out on how to update your device with the stable and official firmware of Gingerbread 2.3.6 dubbed as DDKT1. Please note that this firmware update of Gingerbread 2.3.6 is official update for all the users of INDIA region though can be applied by all the users irrespective of the region you are from. Essential pre Requisites:
- All the data present in your Galaxy FIT needs to be backed up ONLY by following the below mentioned steps so as to ensure that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored easily.
Caution (Not for INDIAN users): Don’t backup the data using the KIES as after the update KIES won’t be detecting your phone as its not Official firmware for your region.
Text messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Phone Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Pictures, Music, Videos, Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”Notes – Manually you need to note down or need to transfer to Evernote.
- Charge left in the device should be minimum 60% so as to make sure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update. Enable the USB Debugging in your device from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”.
So, assuming that you have followed all the instructions mentioned above you now need to proceed to next page for procedure.

Why undertake all the trouble? Just connect your Galaxy Fit via USB cable to your computer and start Kies. The firmware downloads systematically on to the computer and then to the phone. I did the same and it worked very smoothly.

I am unable to see my comments posted 2 days back. I connected my Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 via USB connector to my laptop and switched on KIES. In Kies there is a mention of Firmware upgrade to Gingerbread DDKT1 2.3.6 Firmware. You click on yes for the upgrade and the upgrade starts automatically. You don’t have to undergo any hassles or procedures mentioned by you and the upgrade process is very smooth.
Please inform if anything is wrong in following up this procedure? As well as what are the advantages if we follow your route of upgradation ?

i flashed my phone with this update. This is very heavy and buggy. But this is latest kies says that this is latest version.

i think this is not fully finished update. samsung may have provided more accurate version through kies. This has some serious bugs like it crashes as froyo and tethering problems too and still counting……
And it doesn’t have screen capture service.

Done and working fine ….so far so good… But I have few questions. It was mentioned that device will get started and ll ask for Google accounts… It did nt ask me….moreover, all my installed applications were as it as…. no change and also didnt lose my data… I was not able to go to Recovery mode as well….. it was just flashing message: RAMDUMP Mode (ARM9 mode)…and hence was not able to do”Reboot system now” as mentioned in the process. But I can see under settings that my system is upgraded to 2.3.6 and build number: GINGERBREAD.DDKT1….. is there anything wrong ?

1. wipe data
2. wipe cache then do reboot system now
and wait and b patient the phone will take nearly 15mins for boot up and then 10 mins more for memory card scan let it all get finished then go to setting–>accountsand add your google accont.

i m facing this problem only in ddkt1..i think 2.3.4 ddkq5 was perfect firmware for my galaxy fit..i just wanna sure high battery consumption problem is in the firmware or it is some other issue.

Downloaded and applied the upgrade successfully:
RESULTS:
1) Much more staple than the froyo, no lags
2)FASTER
3)Awesome Battery life as compared to previous ROM
PROBLEMS FACED
1) Self start up (solved with wipe data/cache in recovery mode)
2) No screenshot(solved with market app)
3) Slow version of market app(my net aint that fast- replaced with froyo stock market)
HOW I DID:
1) Charged the battery to full
2) Kies installed on my windows 7(kies came with your phone in mini cd form, or you can download again)
3) wipe data/cache in recovery mode before flashing
3) Removed SIM and Flash card (i just wanted to have a fresh start)
4) Followed the guide
AND Voila….. Android 2.3.6 on my galaxy fit!!!! Thanks to Pradeep Neela!!

NOTE! DO NOT INSTALL ROM MANAGER…. I’ve test it already and it bricked my galaxy fit and it may cause damage in the phone board and needs to be replaced. if you want to update your phone use kies and make sure your phone is full of battery.
I have a galaxy FIT S5670 updated to 2.3.6 but the Software update function on my mobile dosent work even though the samsung account is signed in. it dosent connect to server and gives an error that server connection failed. i assumed it as a problem of network carrier and chaanged the sim card too. but no sucess.
