Samsung Galaxy LogoFor all those who were waiting for an all new update in the form of ICS Android 4.0 flavored custom ROM which is dubbed as version of 4.1. We really thank the developer Paul Forde who has made a huge contribution in rolling out this One Cosmic ICS Custom ROM. Last time we saw on how you can install the RC 2.1 ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware, RC 3.0 and RC 3.1 ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware. I Have a Samsung Galaxy s GT i9000. I moved from 2.2 to 2.35 after which my wifi and my bluetooth stopped working. I then managed to upgrade to 4.0.3, thinking it would fix the wifi and bluetooth problem. But still it didn’t help. Im still currently on the ICS 4.0.3. My wifi shows me “turning on” but it never turns on. My bluetooth does the same.. I heard about a “bcm_supp.conf” file that needs to be in the folder data/wifi but i don’t have it. i searched to download it but couldn’t find it. so i downloaded and installed the wpa_supplicant file and placed it there, and that didn’t work either. Please guys. I NEED A BIG BIG BIG HELP from you. I have hitting my head in the walls since 3 months to get my wifi and bluetooth fixed. please help me do something and fix it. If possible anyone can send me a download link of the bcm_supp.conf file would be great. However i still need explanation and methods to get WIFI working on my SGS GT i9000. HELPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  44. Reply Angad Kumar February 8, 2012 at 12:45 pm

Yeah I had faced a similar issue with Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0 for Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 (SGS). The issue was sometimes when receiving a call (note not always) the other person, that is the caller in this case either could not hear my voice or hear my voice with echo or modulation, basically voice was unclear.
One solution I had when I used to press/toggle the mute/un-mute button and then everything would be ok.
You can try that. It might work.
Hopefully they solve this issue the in latter releases.

    • Reply Pradeep Neela February 8, 2012 at 12:59 pm

yes these issues will be addressed in the coming versions!

      • Reply DK1947IN February 11, 2012 at 2:26 pm

I am also facing the exact same issue in previous RCs this issue was with all call i receive in RC4.1 it is not for all calls but the issue still exits. I found the same solution just after picking the phone call you must toggle mute/unmute button i used to do that in 1 sec and WoW…!!! every thing works perfectly…

  54. Reply Leroy February 7, 2012 at 8:57 pm

Hey, Just followed all instructions, right now at the part where you said:

Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” after which you will see that it will take around 15 – 20 minutes for applying this update. After this, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then select “reboot system now” to reboot the phone.

Did this, its currently applying the zip file, but it loops from a Google startup screen to the GT-i9000 startup screen, to the recovery mode. Is this supposed to happen? Or did something go wrong.

What to do now? Wait, or what?

    • Reply Pradeep Neela February 8, 2012 at 2:47 pm

    Hi All,

I have applied this (ICS RC4.1) update on the stock ROM of Gingerbread 2.3.5, I just root that with CF root and rooted to recovery mode and form there installed from this downloaded zip file.

The phone is now working brilliantly every thing is working perfectly. But as faced some problem with MIC voice only when receiving calls, in this RC4.1 firmware this problem has been addressed to some extent because this issue is not coming for every call – only sometimes for some calls it may appear but fixes automatically after few seconds.

May be developers try to fix this issue separately….i needs this glicth fix else it is an awesome firmware.

    Thanks to the entire team.

I also cleared caches etc… I have noticed that the entire rom is quite sluggish. Its very, very slow to rotate sreen and pretty much appears to be a lag on everything. I have cleared the cache and have done the entire process of updating from scratch twice.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi Neela,
Updated with this one. There are not much visible changes in the looks or performances other than what we have from the build15. The external card contents are available in the ’emmc’ folder. The Application ‘newshunt’ cannot be opened in this version also same as before.
