How To Update Samsung Galaxy POP S5570 with DDKQ7 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware
Time to pop your Samsung Galaxy POP S5570, yes you have heard it right! In the due course of this article we will see on how you can install the latest firmware of Gingerbread 2.3.6 which is dubbed as DDKQ7. This update will soon be pushed via KIES tool for all Galaxy POP S5570 users if you are from India. SMS Messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts Stored in Phone Memory – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Videos, Images, Videos & Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- After this you need to enable the USB Debugging in your phone. “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. After this, you need to disable / close all the tools like Firewalls, Antivirus suites as these generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.
- Ensure that the KIES is updated with the latest version so as to make sure that all the device drivers are installed successfully.
Special Instructions for users on Custom ROM Firmware:
- If you are on ANY of the custom ROM firmwares then you need to enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
- In recovery mode, select options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and also you need to select the option of “Clear Dalvik Cache” after which you need to reboot your device by selecting reboot system now after which all the cache files will get deleted.

i cant belive that yesterday i did the upgrade from 2.1 to 2.3.4 and today there ia nother update available.
just finsihed upgrading to 2.3.6 . everythign went smoothly. Best part is i dont have to wipe the cache and reset to factory default.
the update which i like is now there is option of data connection activate/deactivate in power off menu. so no more app required to switch off apn/data connection.
After upgrading how can i root my galaxy pop?

i am from bangladesh, how can i understand that i can have an update for my galaxy pop. i have installed latest kies and it showing a firmware update available. update firmware shows a box saying downloading upadate components and finished within 10min and box appears preparing update components and hangs for more than 1hr.. nothing happens.. why? wt it means? help me please..

Now I want to update it with gingerbread 2.3.6. but the package download link given above shows some error when i click it. Can you please find a solution for both the problems..?

Thanks for the Firmware! I have upgraded my Galaxy Pop to version 2.3.6 but after upgrading GPS is not working!! It keeps blinking for more than 30 mins but unable to catch location data when another Galaxy Pop with Android version 2.2 catches within 1 mins!! PS, my GPS was in working condition before the upgrade!

when i try firmware thru Kies, it says ‘server not connected. check Internet connections.’ but i am able to connect to intetnet in my pop and thru pop in the computer.
it doesnt recognize the kies as you are on the beta version, please update with DDKQ6 to get odin detected!
I don’t know if this firmware stable for our device.
Because some of my friends (my blog’s visitor) said after they were upgrade to this firmware not get more fast but Slow and get warm quickly. So, they did downgrade, back to 2.3.5 or using other firmware which have same version 2.3.6 or install custom ROM.

officially its not there but unofficially there is an update!
Having issues with this version on wifi connection. it gets disconnected after a couple of minutes then it reconnects. compared it to another lower version. The lower version by the way has consistent wifi connection and does not disconnect at all
if u cant update it…..first backup your contact or any other important file and then restore your phone…..after restoring,update ur KIES and connect your phone to Pc….it will automatically ask u to upgrade to 2.3.6 or whatever…..then update it….but it takes on a normal broadband connection…….then you’re DONE

just upgraded my phone to .5 version .I love it.One doubt regarding wireless networks > mobile network settings. In 2.2 version there used to be a use only 2g network option available to select.This version doesn’t have it. The symbol is of 3g network when activating internet,however the APN is that of gprs.
Will this by default take me to 3g network?
or
is this essentially 2g connection with 3g symbol showing up ?

i upgraded galaxy pop via kies yesterday. kies works better on windows XP. i used in windows 7 many times, but it was not upgrading. but when i upgraded it via kies in XP, it was upgraded successfully without any error.

i upgraded my galaxy pop android 2.2 to android 2.3 yesterday. but i did’t upgrade it via odin. i upgraded it via kies. but after upgrading it, there is not 3G option. in android 2.2, there is a option for using 3g services. but in android 2.3, 3g option is not showing. and message themes are not available in android 2.3 (gingerbread). can i use 3g in android 2.3 or not?
