How to Update Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 with Official DDLC2 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy Y S5360 with DDLC2 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware:

  • After downloading the DDLC2 Package from the list of pre requisites mentioned in the last page, you can now proceed to extracting the same as shown in the below screen capture. Ensure that the entire files match with the one you extract in your computer.

DDLC2 Extracted Files

  • After this, you need to open the Odin from the extracted Files and turn Off your device so that it can then be entered into the Download Mode.

  • Now, turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. To know more, refer to the below Video.

  • Once you enter into the download mode, you need to connect the phone to the computer while keeping the Odin opened. Once you connect the phone, the ID : COM section in the Odin will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed and files have to be selected. Now, in odin, click on “PDA” and select “S5360DDLC2_S5360ODDLA2_S5360DDLC2_HOME.tar.md5” file as shown in the below screen capture.

  • After checking with the file selections, you need to click on “Start” after which the firmware application process will be started and once its finished, the device will be restarting which will mean that the firmware has updated successfully.

  • To check whether he firmware has been successfully updated or not, you need to go to the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version mentioned as DDLC2 2.3.6 Gingerbread version.
  • After this, turn off the phone to get into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing  Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button as shown in the below video.

Tip: Just in case if due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.

    pradeep bro i have updated to DDLA1 by your odin method but after that my google play not working getting forcefully close….so i am trying now from setting to update it ,so it got updated to DDLA3 but after that also same problem……do reply what should i do????

    Now phone keeps on restarting during initial Samsung Logo… Please help… hot to overcome this issue…

      yes you will be able to restart. enter the device in the recovery mode

      this update is not yet available via ota for some users. You can manually update the same!

    anyone found solution? how can we update Galaxy Y with single file PDA ? none of the India firmware not working Neal..can u post new DD0LE1 may firmware with Multi csc.modem. pda and bootloader all 4 files? i think. Galaxy Y will work multi files via odin.

    Update thro wifi if you have router or wifi connection. There are two updates first one is of around 4.2 MB and then the second one with the size of 0.12 MB. Now it is far stable than earlier. There is a swipe to unlock instruction appearing after this update

    same thing here! i followed all the steps but it gave me the failed! error message. i checked the usb connectivity and it was ok. this is also a brand new phone with DXLA1

    I am unable to upgrade this firmware. Followed all the steps as mentioned above.

    When I click “Start” button of odin3, following messages are displayed in the Message area:
    Added!!
    Removed!!
    Added!!
    Enter CS for MD5..
    Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
    Please wait..
    S5360DDLC2_S5360ODDLA2_S5360DDLC2_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
    Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..

    Odin v.3 engine (ID:16)..
    File analysis..

    Initialzation..

    Firmware update start..

    And firmware upgrade fails. Please let me know the resolution.

    My phone cant update using only one file PDA, it needs pit, csc, modem files. So where can i get this files from for this new update?
