I upgraded my I9003 to JPKP5 about 4 months ago and have had no problems since.
However, when I recently connencted it to KIES, I found out that my ‘Device does not support upgrading via KIES’.
I am therefore unable to upgrade my phone to the official DDKP2. Can anyone help me? Also, can someone please tell me the major advantages/disadvantages of DDPK2 over JPKP5.
Any help will be much appreciated.

        firmware version: 2.3.4
        base band version: i9003JXKP3
        Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-CL482273 ROOT@DELL 149#1

i tried the update XXKPH. but the problem was still there, i then proceeded to connect my phone on to samsung kies. there was an update. i installed the update
          Firmware version 2.3.5
basband version i9003 XXKPM. but the problem was still there. i came to the conclusion that the problem isn’t with the software but the hardware. i will be taking the phone back to the service center to see if i can get it replaced. thanks a lot for the help you gave me. have a good day.

But suddenly today i got a force close popup for notification window & after that my notification window was not working. I tried restarting the mobile but of no use. My home screen ( ” Only Samsung screen is visible “) is taking more than 15 mins to load but during that time, phone is working ( i can get the incoming call notification )…..Is there any other way to recover from it. I think phone is taking more time to load because it is trying to load the notification bar. Can i restore the mob without flashing it again ( I don’t want to loose all my installed applications ).Sometimes my network is also getting disconnected often…… Please help me dude….

Every time when i follow the process, the screen turns blank & once i remove my fingers from the button, my phone reboots normally. I have seen few other peoples in the forum who have experienced the same issue. Two questions here
        1. Is there any other method to erase the cache other than taking it to recovery mode
        2. Is it necessary to clear the cache after rooting the phone?

PIT – s1_odin_20100512.pit bit found in the SamsungGalaxySL_Gingerbread_2.3.4_I9003JPKP5.zip.
    I found only latona_20110114.pit.

    It that a typing mistake?

OK, finally I got it to work. If someone has this problem: you should root your device and (more or less) follow these steps for emulator : . Basically you need this sip.voip xml file in the system permissions folder

you can go with Galaxy SL I9003 as it comes with LCD display which consumes lesser battery than AMOLED one and also it has 1650 mah battery. Regarding the 2 days battery life, there is no android phone which can hold charge for that long! but yes if your internet usage is minimal then you may get just above a day!
