How To Update Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 with Official Gingerbread 2.3.5 DDKPG Firmware


Procedure to Update DDKPG Gingerbread update on Samsung Galaxy SL I9003:

  • Download DDKPG Gingerbread Package to your computer and then unzip the same. In the process of unzipping, you will be prompted to enter the password, enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas.

  • Now, once the files are extracted, you will have to now match with the extracted files screen capture which is mentioned below. Please note that if at all if there are any files which are missing then you will have to again re download and unzip the same from the above link.

DDKPG Extracted Files

  • From the extracted files, click on the Odin Executable file to open the same. As soon as you open the same, you will find the screen as shown below.

  • Now, while keeping the Odin opened in the computer you will have to turn Off the phone and enter the phone into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Just in case if the phone boots up in the normal mode then you need to again try the process as without entering download mode it’s not recommend to proceed forward.

  • Upon entering the download mode, you now need to connect the phone to the computer with the help of USB cable. As soon as you connect the phone, the ID : COM section in the Odin will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers are successfully installed and you are ready to proceed to the next step.
  • Now, in the Odin you need to select files by clicking on the corresponding option which is mentioned below,

PDA  – I9003XWKPG_I9003ODDKPG_I9003DDKP3_HOME.tar.md5

  • Ensure that you are matching all the settings which are mentioned in the below screen capture of the Odin. Once you are done with the checking of the files, click on the “Start” to proceed with the process of firmware update.

  • Now, as soon as the firmware update process is finished, you will then be prompted to enter the Google account details as well as the Language preferences after which you will see the home screen.
  • After this turn off the phone so that you can then turn On the phone in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the Video below to know more on how to enter the phone into the recovery mode.

  • In the recovery mode, select the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition  to clear all the cache. So, once you finish this, you will have to select the option of “ ++++ Go back ++++” and then select the option of “reboot system now” to reboot he phone.

    What does this mean?

    “This update can’t be applied if you have recently updated your Galaxy SL I9003 with XXKPM version or any other.”

    I updated my unit to 2.3.5 XXKPM just recently. Why I can’t apply this official version to my phone?

    I have 2.3.5 XXKPN already. which i updated from Kies. do i have to update DDKPG, is that same of mine or latest?. I still hav the problem. video calls not sending my video to others..on skype.

    This DDKP3 released on 28th oct, XXKPN was released on November8th, I think XXKPN latest and stable. DDKP3, I feel my phone getting heated easily. Neal PLease advise me. what do you think? (XXKPN can latest updates from Kies2 too. but DDKP3 can not)

    1st Question can I update my mobile using this version and

    2nd Question I dont have the samsung original cable but I have another cable when I connect my mobile to system using that cable it works normally as it used to…

    i am in india, which is best for me xxkpn or ddkpg for my galaxy sl i9003. i frequently use my phone as a usb modem via kies would i be able to do it after update. i am currently on jpkp5.

    Please tell me which one is better DDKPG or XXKPN? If i have to go XXKPN then what i’ve to do. directly flash XXKPN, or i’ve to flash first European software (XXKPM etc) then ive to go XXKPN?

    i updated my i9003 with 2.3.5 gingerbread.XWKPG THROUGH KIES UPDATE FROM FRAYO.
    I AM FACING PROBLEM OF DOWNLOADING APPS FROM ANDROID MARKET.ERROR READS”ERROR WHILE DOWNLOADING,THERE IS INSUFFICIENT SPACE ON DEVICE”.there is enough memory on internal & external sd card.I AM ABLE TO DOWNLOAD MUSIC & OTHER STUFF FROM BROWSER….

    After upgrading to 2.3.5, i9003DDKP3. gingerbread.xwpg;

    when i connect USB to Kies (PC/Laptop)

    1) Phone goes into MTP mode directly, no choice like before.

    Sometimes asks what action i would like to take .ie. nothing, browse…

    2) Kies does not connect to the phone. reloaded Kies also which still does not help.

    Hey i have one cofusion. As of now u r only providing the file for [PDA] in odin and previously u were giving the seperate file for all like modem, csc, bootloader, pit and all. So, my question is, recent upgrades will upgrade every thing or only some part. As recent two three upgrades made no changes in my directory structure of my SDCard. Where as you say the firmware deletes everything like apps and data.. but after applying froyo ddkb2, and later ginger JPKP5 and XXKPQ doesnt even deleted any folder created by old installed apps as well as data. Please tell me wether all the temporary files are still lying if it is how to remove all those, as i had already done wipe cache partition and all after everytime i upgraded it to any firmware. I want to completely flush my mobile and reinstall from scrath.

    Hello, i have fw 2.2.1 on my i9003. In order to upgrade the firmware i have downloaded Kies, connected the device to my pc, Kies automaticly recognizes Samsung i9003 SL device and prompts me that a firmware update is ready to be installed, i click ok -> accept all license agreements -> then while the software is \downloading files to be installed on my device\ the phone disconnects from Kies …. so i remain in an infinite \prepare for firmware upgrade – please do not disconnect the cable from the PC\ message loop
    I don’t even touch the damn thing, any ideas?

    Hi My Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 reboot continuously. Every time when system reboot the startup steps screen is appear and when i complete the steps system reboot again some time on middle in the steps and some time on home screen when i click on menu. System is also not going in recovery mood by clicking volume down + Home (Middle button) + Reboot but recovery screen is not appear. Please help me to resolve the issue

    this upgrade worked like charm, and connecting to wifi hasnt been a problem..until i cant connect to wifi anymore..i got my phone into recovery mode and wipe cache then reboot,still cant connect..can anyone help me..??this frustrates me real bad…..:(
