How to Update SONY Xperia PLAY with Gin2Jellybean Custom ROM Firmware

Procedure to Update SONY Xperia PLAY with Gin2Jellybean 1.8 Firmware:

• Download the R800i 4.0.2.A.0.58 EnhancedV2 Firmware Package, Wi Fi Module and Gin2JellyBean Rom Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device with the computer using the original USB cable and place the above three files in your device. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the device. Also, ensure that your boot loader is unlocked as this only works on the boot loader unlocked devices.

• Now, you need to flash the above R800i 4.0.2.A.0.58 EnhancedV2 file with the help of flash tool. Once it’s done, you now need to download and flash the DooMLoRD Kernel (v14) kernel in your SONY Ericsson Xperia PLAY.

• Once the device is entered in the recovery mode, select “clear cache” and “wipe data” option so as to make sure that all the data is erased so as to get away from the force close errors. Once it’s done, you need to flash the Wi Fi modules package which you placed in your device.

• In recovery mode, select “Go Back” and select the “reboot system now” for rebooting the device normally. If it hangs, then you need to clear the cache again from the recovery mode by re inserting the battery,

Note: Just in case if the device doesn’t boot up or say gets into the boot loop sequence, you need to long press the power button or reinsert the battery to turn off the device and retry the whole process from start.
