Galaxy S I9000

How to Update Vodafone Galaxy S GT I9000 to Gingerbread BUJVB 2.3.3 Firmware

Vodafone Galaxy S LogoFor all Samsung Galaxy S owners who are having a network locked handset with the service provider Vodafone, then you really have a great news as now you no longer will have to flash with the other firmwares which are generally used by the other Galaxy S phones which are unlocked. So, in the due course of this article we will see on how you can flash or update with the dedicated version of Gingerbread 2.3.3 for your Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S across the World. Please note that this update of the Gingerbread 2.3.3 is the official update for all the Vodafone Galaxy S phones and not the leak versions, one can also update their phones by visiting the nearest Samsung service centres or even can update their phones with the help of KIES 2, but this update of Gingerbread will take its time to roll out around the globe.

In the due course of this article which is splitted up in different pages we will see the pre requisites of this update, instructions to update your Vodafone Powered Galaxy S. Though there is no time line given by Samsung on the arrival of the official version of Gingerbread 2.3.4 release, you can expect the same in the coming months and not if not any time soon then we are there any time to give you all the latest updates for your phone even before Samsung comes forward with the Gingerbread 2.3.4 or even the future releases of Android versions.
You may experience issues like the phone not booting up, in this case you need not panic as all you need to do is to just follow the instructions again from the start which are mentioned in the following pages carefully so as to facilitate the firmware update successfully and after the firmware update ensure that you also clear the cache as mentioned in the due course of this article as clearing the cache ensures that no lag is being induced after the firmware update.

Please note that many users keep repeatedly address the issue of NO INTERNET CONNECTION working after the firmware update, for all those i would like to say that since the firmware upgrade process will be undergone all the APN Settings which are responsible for the Internet access will be wiped and you will have to reconfigure them all to get an Internet access and in the same way you will also have to configure all the MMS settings to be able to send the MMS from your phone after the firmware update.

    Hi Neal
Thanks for the update. My galaxy is lucked with Vodafone Australia and I already flashed with XXJVQ following your article and voodoo kernel (XXJVP) as well. I want to know is there any performance improvement with BUJVB? don’t want to flash again only because this is official.

If you proceed, you are going back from 2.3.4 to 2.3.3 and my personal advice is that if you are using Voodoo, you will not like the stock firmware so don’t downgrade unless you have compatibility issues with your Vodafone locked device… The performance level is high on Voodoo and it always gives a smoother experience…

I am very thankful to you for making my phone updating new firmwares. My first phone running android OS is galaxy s. And its awesome. I got a question regarding this firmware update. Will it be suitable for my phone to upgrade which is not powered by vodafone. Will it brick my phone.
