Almost 80 % of the Android smart phones have been upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as scheduled by top brands like Sony, Samsung, HTC and LG. Samsung, HTC and LG didn’t had too many device for the upgrade and they did it easily as they already released Android 4.0 powered smart phones pre installed since this year starting. The problem with Sony was that even though Android 4.0 was released and available it didn’t powered with Android 4.0 instead included Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Now that has resulted in many of device by Sony added to the list of device for Android ICS update.
Almost all the Sony powered devices have been upgraded to Android ICS but few of them like Xperia U, Xperia Sola and Xperia Go were left over. There are some good news for the Xperia Sola as well as it includes special updates which includes the new feature called Glove Mode. Glove Mode is the extension of floating touch technology which allows the phone to use in the cold whilst wearing gloves.
While you are ready for the update, you should be prepared to take the backup of your device by any method you follow. Either backup using the apps individually for SMS, Call Logs and move content in the phone memory to SD card. And you should ensure that you have more than 50 % battery life left on your device.
