Since taken over by Facebook, the messaging app WhatsApp has seen several new features and has been updated many times. Now it has been spotted running in dark mode on the latest beta for Android. Recently we have seen Facebook introduced the dark mode for its messenger and it is now working to bring it to the messaging app too. The beta with the version 2.19.82 has been spotted and recently WhatsApp has submitted its new update that features dark mode via Google Play Beta Program.
Furthermore, the report clearly indicates that the new dark mode will spread across all the main settings panel of the application and nothing about the chat UI has been mentioned or known yet. With the dark mode, the users will be able to utilize AMOLED and OLED screen smartphones to reduce battery consumption and make sure the phone last long by reducing the full display pixel utilization.
The dark mode has been the pattern for all the major Android applications in recent times and we have seen Twitter, Reddit, Telegram and also many other Google apps have adapted to it. The latest beta build showcases audio file names which are being shared or forwarded within the conversations. We can also find the fingering authentication on this latest beta to unlock the app giving more security and privacy to the app.
This dark mode is still under development for WhatsApp and it might take some time before we actually see it on our device. Well, WhatsApp is said to be working on other features also showing how many times a message has been forwarded which will be useful to handle the fake news that keeps circulating on WhatsApp. What do you think about the Darkmode on WhatsApp?
