WSL Japan Announces Xvision Am4 Android 4.0 ICS 9.7″ Tablet

WSL Japan a Tokyo based company announces Xvision AM4 Android tablet powered with Android 4.0. Now, as the Mobile World Congress is just a couple of weeks away, now we see many Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablets coming out with actual launch date slated in March or April. Yesterday we had announcement from Samsung team about their new Galaxy Tab 2 tablet which is costing $ 450 approximately for the Wi Fi version and 3G + Wi Fi costing around $ 550.

The Xvision AM4 is powered Amlogic 8726 M3 processor clocked at 1 Ghz having 9.7 inches XGA resolution multi touch capacitive touchscreen display. The screen provides at most clarity of 1024 x 768 pixel resolutions with aspect ratio of 4:3. The interesting specifications to look at Xvision AM4 is that this tablet is powered with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which provides the tablet with new customizations and complete makeover from the existing OS for tablets i.e., Android Honeycomb. Added to that it has DDR3 1 GB RAM with 16 GB as the internal storage capacity and it includes 2 mega pixel rear side camera and 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera for video chat and webcam.

The internet on this mobile can be accessed via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Also there is a Wi-Fi + 3G tablet available for purchase.  The size of the tablet is 241mm (H) × 185mm (W) × 10.4mm (D). Along with the 9.7 inches variant of this tablet the 10.1 inches variant too be listed for sale in the second quarter of this year. Sales of this tablet in Japan will be from April this year, yet there are no details on the pricing of this tablet. Also there is no details whether this would be launched internationally or not, as of now we can assume Japan users have more choices than the international users.

    The Stage UI in this video is different from the gamies you have on the website. The look of the widgets, and the widgets themselves are not the same. Why is that? Are there two different versions of the Stage UI widgets? I prefer the ones showcased in the stills on the Engadget website. What’s the deal?
