XiaoMi’s Diwali Plans for India, to sell 1,00,000 phones & more – Complete Details

XiaoMi, one of the leading smartphone OEM in India has now come up with some MEGA plans for Diwali in India for this festive season. At GMIC Bengaluru event, Hugo Barra mentioned that it will be bringing the Mi3 device in India along with few more units of XiaoMi’s Redmi 1S smartphones by Diwali. With 60,000 devices of Redmi 1S and 40,000 more units of Mi 3 it will surely not be enough for Indian consumers, but we can only hope that more devices will be sold in India. The main concern with the XiaoMi devices is the supply, these devices are still away from a common man who wants to purchase this device. Until you are a tech savvy person, there is very high probability that you may not be able to buy this device.

XiaoMi saw more than 100,000 people pre-register for a supply of 10,000 phones when it launched in July. XiaoMi had started to sell 40,000 units of Redmi 1S initially which has now been increased to 60,000 units. In the 5th Flash sale by XiaoMi, 60,000 devices will be up for grabs on flipkart. In the recent interview to Reuters, Hugo Barra mentioned that it’s chartering planes from Hong Kong to India so that it can bring 60,000 Redmi 1S and 40,000 Mi 3 in India. In coming days to come, we will also hear some plans about the Redmi Note as well as the Mi Pad and Mi TV which too are slated for India release. Additionally, XiaoMi is also exploring opportunity to setup manufacturing unit in India.

    ask hugo barra when they are planning to release xiaomi redmi note in india. approx date of release? i am fed up waiting for it. if by end of year then it will be useless as 4G services may start by jan 2015.
