Xiaomi has come with many leaks with the successor of its Hongmi which was also known as Redmi and it was a budget Android Smart phone. This successor has not been named yet and was sighted on China’s telecom regulators TENAA’s database. Moreover this was spotted in four different variants, for different radio support and it will also pack an Octa-core processor.
Most probably this un-named device will be known as Hongmi 2 in China and Redmi 2 around the world, but still it’s just a guess, so it could be something else too! According to the leaks the Device will be coming with a 5.5 inch 720 p HD touch screen display and will be powered by an Octa core processor at a clocking speed of 1.7 GHz / 1.4 GHz (differing in variants). This will be accompanied by a 1 GB of RAM and will be running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Operating System.
The device is also said to feature a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front facing camera (we can see one variant having 8 MP front facing camera) the internal memory of the device is not known but it will come with a micro SD card slot to extended the memory. The Xiaomi Hongmi was powered by a quad core processor inside a 4.7 inch display and also had an 8 MP shooter on the back. This indicates that the successor of Hongmi has been upgraded and is coming with many new features.
Unlike its predecessor this new device from the company might not be a budget Android Smart phone because for its upgraded specifications. The pricing and the launch details of the device is not yet but we can expect this device to be showcased at the MiFan festival that will be held in the early April this year. Stay tuned for more information and updates.
