Xiaomi Mi 5 with 5.7″ Full-HD Display & Snapdragon 820 SoC Surfaced on GFXBench

The Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi has been in the rumor rounds for a while now about the launch of its flagship Xiaomi Mi 5. Recently, the company has officially confirmed that the premium smartphone will be announced on Feb 24th at the MWC 2016 event to be held in Barcelona. Now, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5 has popped on the GFXBench listing revealing few key specifications of the device.

According to the GFXBench listing, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 5.7-inch (1920×1080 pixels) full-HD display and is expected to come powered by all-new Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz clubbed with Adreno 530 GPU. It is worth noting that the LeEco Le Max Pro is the first smartphone to announce officially with Snapdragon 820 processor. It will come with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage and there is no information about the inclusion of a microSD card slot.

The GFXBench listing does not reveal the camera details but going with the earlier rumors, the Mi 5 is expected to sport a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for video chats and selfie lovers. Connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port with OTG functionality. The device is expected to power a 3600mAh battery and will run on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The smartphone sports premium looks with metal frame and 3G glass back panel. The device will sport a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button and is also expected to feature USB Type-C port.

Xiaomi is also rumored to launch a high-end variant of the smartphone called as Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus. The smartphone is expected to feature 5.7-inch 2K display, same Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage, 16MP primary camera, 8MP selfie shooter and many other features similar to the Mi 5. The company has confirmed none of these details and we advise you to take this with a proverbial pinch of salt. A quick recall, Xiaomi has recently launched the upgraded variant of the Redmi Note 3 called as Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro in China and is priced at 999 Yuan (approx $151). The Redmi Note 3 Pro features 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 650 hexa-core SoC, 2GB/3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of built-in storage, 16MP primary camera with PDAF, 5MP selfie shooter, 4G-LTE support, 4000mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
