Xiaomi’s Redmi 1s now receives MIUI 6 OS update

Xiaomi’s RedMi 1s is now receiving MIUI 6 update. The Chinese company also confirmed that the MIUI 6 update will be rolled out through OTA. Some of the other highlights of the update include support for choosing text fonts, colours, sizes and some other options when editing a mail, and now swiping right will mark unread messages as read in the Messages app. For emails, the update brings new features such as automatic save option when typing text in quick reply box in mail; stop downloading all attachments in one press, and when replying to all recipients of a mail with attachments, it will ask if you want to include attachments of the last mail when you try to add more recipients.

Earlier: The Redmi 1s from Xiaomi is available for pre-order today on Flipkart, the official store where Xiaomi is selling its range of smartphones. This will be the second device entering the Indian market, after the hugely popular and hyped Xiaomi Mi3 which has been selling in seconds whenever the stock is available, according to the company and the online retailer. The device is expected to be available at a price of Rs 5999 only making it one of the best value for money smart phone.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S is another device that has been launch in India today alongside the Xiaomi Mi3 and Xiaomi Redmi Note. This device is been priced at Rs. 6999 and will go for sale via Flipkart. This device was released earlier this year in the month of May with 4.7 inch touch screen display with 720 x 1280 pixels and has a 8 MP camera on the rear.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S flaunts a 4.7 inch 720p HD touchscreen display with 312 ppi pixel density and will be powered by a quad core Snapdragon 400 processor clocking at 1.6 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. The device will run, Android 4.3 based MIUI V5 operating system out of the box and has a 2000 mAh battery on the back to power the device.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S has a 8 MP camera on the rear with LED flash that is capable of taking 1080 p videos and is supported by a 1.6 MP camera on the front. It comes with 8 GB of internal memory that can be extended via microSD card slot up to 64 GB and it is a dual SIM variant with the connectivity of Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, Wi-Fi, and GPS.

    Confusing.

      If flipkart has mentioned that then its wrong. Its just HD not full HD.

    As you have mentioned iris x1 here, I am curious to know if they have corrected their glitch in the new 8 GB version. The glitch was – Apps stored on sd card getting vanished on restarting the phone.
