Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 & Redmi 7 Launched in Nigeria

At an event in Lagos, Nigeria, Xiaomi has announced a new smartphone called as the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi 7. These devices were already launched in the other markets recently but it is made available in Saharan Africa now. The Redmi Note 7 will be sold by Jumia Nigeria from April 29th and can also be bought at Slot and Pointek stores. On the other hand, the smaller Redmi 7 can be bough in Jumia Nigeria on the online stores for a starting price of N42,000 Naira.

Talking about the Redmi Note 7, it comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display that features a water drop notch and has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with Adreno 512GPU. It comes with 48MP rear-facing camera coupled with a 5MP depth sensor and there is a 13MP camera on the front for selfies.

There is a 4000mAh battery on the back with the support for Quick Charge 4 and will feature in 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB/128GB of onboard storages which can be extended further with microSD card slot. Furthermore, the handset will be available in Nebula Red, Space Black, and Neptune Blue color options. The 3GB RAM + 32GB is priced at NGN 58,000 (approx $160) the 4GB RAM + 64GB is priced at NGN 66,900 (approx $185) and the top 4GB RAM + 128GB variant is priced at NGN 75,500 (approx $208).

On the other hand, the Redmi 7 comes with a 6.2-inch dot display with HD+ resolutions and is certified with TUV Rheinland. Under the hood, it is powered with Snapdragon632 SoC and comes with 12MP main camera sensor on the rear along with a 2MP depth sensing sensor. There is also an 8MP selfie camera with AI features and comes out of the box with Android 9 Pie operating system with MIUI 10 on top.

The Redmi 7 is priced at NGN 42,000 (approx $116) for the 2GB + 16GB storage options while the 3GB RAM + 32GB and the 3GB RAM + 64GB variants are priced at NGN 47,500 (approx $131) and NGN 53,500 (approx $148) respectively.
