Update: Xolo has officially launched a new smartphone under their Black sub-brand today. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 12,999 and will be exclusively available on Flipkart starting July 13. For existing Xolo customers, Xolo Black will selling a day early, July 12, from 4pm to 8pm. Registrations for this from 4pm on July 10 on xolo.in.
The smartphone has a 5.5-inch IPS OGS display with a resolution of 1920 x 10800 pixels (401 PPI). It has gorilla glass 3 at the front and back. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 CPU and is 64-Bit ready. It has a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and an SD card slot. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Hive UI on top.
The Black features a dual rear camera, one of them is 13 megapixel, and the other is 2 megapixel. On the front, is has a 5MP snapper with a flash. The camera boasts to focus on the object in just 0.15s. It comes with a Chrome Flash and Adobe Photo Studio pre-installed. It also has an intelligent OptiZoom that optimizes digital zoom by taking multiple images.
It has an oleophobic coating at the back, making it resilient against smudges and stains. It has a breathing notification ring around the power button. It has a 7.3mm thickness. It comes with a browser based on Opera called Comet browser pre-installed. The handset is backed by 3200 mAh of battery. It has quick charging feature which let the phone charge from 0 to 50 percent in an hour.

Xolo today confirmed the launch of its new brand will be on 10th July. With the smartphones under this brand, Xolo wants to follow the likes of what Huawei did with Honor and Micromax did with YU. The smartphones from Black will be Flipkart exclusive. Earlier the company promised a launch of a new smartphone for every quarter and all the devices will come with 4G LTE support. The devices will be priced between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 and runs on the Android Lollipop based Xolo’s Hive UI out-of-the-box

Xolo posted a new video on its YouTube account, which focused on the new features of its upcoming sub-brand Black. From the video, we came to know that the device will be stain and smudge free. It also shows the side and rear part of the device, which indeed reveals a dual camera setup with an LED flash placed in between them. It has round edges with an SIM card tray placed on the top left side. We can expect the back of the device to be a glossy finish.
Earlier this month, the company announced that there will be a launch of a new smartphone every quarter under this new brand. These smartphones will available exclusively through Flipkart, and the first device will be priced around Rs. 15,000. It will support 4G LTE and expected to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop based company’s own Hive 1.5 UI.

Xolo Unveiled its online-only brand called Black, last month. According to the latest reports, the company have plans to launch a new handset every quarter under Black brand that will compete against Xiaomi, Motorola and Yu.
XOLO have plans to unveil the first smartphone under the series later this month in the sub-Rs. 15,000 range. The series will have three-four devices in its portfolio at any given point in time. XOLO has partnered e-commerce major Flipkart to sell the first device in the Black range.
XOLO Business Head Sunil Raina said “At XOLO, we have always focused on building a strong digital presence. Even now, XOLO has 20-22 percent of the total sales coming from online channels. Introducing an ‘online-only’ sub-brand is a natural progression for XOLO, catering to the experience seeking online customers,”

Xolo, the sub-brand from Lava, has announced plans to unveil a new sub-brand called Black. Xolo Black smartphones will be exclusively available online only. For Xolo Black, the company has tied up with an e-commerce brand and a telecom operator. Unlike Xiaomi, Yu and others, Xolo won’t have flash sales for its Black smartphones.
The first Xolo Black smartphone will launch in June and it will come with a dual rear camera setup with depth-sensing support. The phone will come with Hive 1.5, an update to the company’s in-house UI, which is now built on top of Android Lollipop. It will also have 4G support and will be priced in the “sub-Rs. 15,000 segment.”
With the Black portfolio, Sehgal Vishal Sehgal, Co-founder, LAVA International says, the company wants to focus on the camera, the design ID, audio quality and battery life. “We think these are the core features a buyer is looking for in a new smartphone. All Black phones will need to tick all of the above boxes. It will maximise one of those features and optimise the other three.”
Black will focus on a single phone launch for each quarter and a device will be available for at least nine months.
Sehgal says that has to be a minimum product cycle for any device. “Our job is to be able to forecast technology and future-proof our devices for this time frame,” he says. The company also announced that they will spend $3 million on promotions of Black brand, “We have to communicate the differentiated experience that we are offering.”
