Sony discontinued relationship with Ericsson and they quick campaign at Mobile World Congress with Xperia S smartphone turn out to be their fortune favors. After announcing several devices in the Quarter 1, it’s the time for the earlier existing devices to get Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade and in Quarter 2 Sony is back of that. First coming out with ICS to tablet S, followed with Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray. Soon followed is the Android ICS upgrade to Xperia Mini, Mini Pro and Live with Walkman. But in the race of these quick updates Xperia Play has been pulled off by Sony and today the ICS has been launched by Sony for Xperia Active handsets owners.

Until now Sony has updated all the devices which released in 2011 and which qualified for the Ice Cream Sandwich and this leaves just the 2012 released Xperia handsets waiting for an update to deliver. Xperia S handset upgrade should be available within a week or so and the Xperia P, Xperia U update would be available in Q3 only.
To update your Sony Xperia Active handset you need to connect your phone using the USB Cable to the PC and as soon as you connect you would get the update notification on the PC tool itself.
