We have been waiting for the Xperia Z3 from quite a time now, and it has been launched today. The device was unveiled earlier this week in Berlin along with its compact version Xperia Z3 Compact and few other devices. Sony has choose to stick with the same screen as we have seen in Xperia Z2, but this year flagship model comes with much powerful internal hardware. We have already seen many big companies have already released their flagship devices, and Sony being last among them. Sony Xperia is IP65 and IP68 certified for waterproof and dust tight. The device will be rolled out the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. The compact version of the Xperia Z3 will come with a screen size of 4.7 inches and rest all the specifications are same.
Design & Display
The Sony Xperia Z3 is covered with glass on front and back and has a metallic frame to the sides, giving it an elegant look. It has a 5.2 inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display and gives a pixel density of 424 ppi. Moreover, Sony has pushed its TRILUMINOS Display for mobile and the X-reality technology for mobile picture engine to enhance the image and video viewing.
Internal Hardware / Storage
Sony Xperia Z3 is surely a power packed device with the latest Snapdragon 801 processor, that clocks with a speed of 2.5 GHz with its four cores. There is a 3 GB RAM, and gets accompanied with an Adreno 330 Graphics Processing Unit. The device comes with an on-board memory of 16 or 32 GB that can be further extended up to a maximum of 128 GB via microSD card slot (SDXC supported).
Sony has always been focusing on it camera, more than anything else, and it has used the same 20.7 MP camera that we have seen with its predecessor. The camera uses autofocus technology and has an 8x digital zoom. Sony Exmor RS for mobile image sensor has been used and also comes with a pulsed LED flash. The rear camera is capable of recording 4K videos, and there is also 2.2 MP camera on the front to accompany it. Apart from these the camera has many other features that we saw with the Xperia Z2, and it also uses ISO 12800.
Connectivity and Battery
Sony Xperia supports 4G-LTE connectivity, but it won’t be available in all the markets. The other connectivity options like Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, GPRS, NFC and others are also available. There is a 3100 mAh battery on the back of the device that is non-removable, and it is expected to give a talk time up to 16 hours and standby time up to 920 hours.
Xperia Z3 has many competitors in the market like the Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G3, Motorola Moto X (2014), HTC One (M8) and many other flagship devices.
