Nokia has announced the Nokia X2, the new smartphone with the Nokia X platform. The smartphone comes with the 4.3-inch WVGA display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor along side 1 GB of RAM. It runs the Nokia X software platform no. 2 which is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. On the rear side, the Nokia X2 has a 5-megapixel camera with the LED flash and it can record 720p videos, while on the front there is a VGA camera.
The Nokia X2 comes with the internal storage of 4GB and there is a slot for MicroSD card for the storage expansion. Finally Nokia has come up with a separate back and a home button, unlike the single Back button in the earlier devices. According to Nokia, the X2 comes pre-loaded with Here Maps and MixRadio, and the Fastlane is improved in the new device.
The Dual-SIM Nokia X2 is coming with several color options – glossy green, orange, black, glossy yellow, white and matte dark grey, and the pricing set for this is Rs. 8100 (although this is based on the price of 99 Euros).
Nokia is all set to launch the successor of the Nokia X – one of the first Nokia devices to run Android OS along with the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL. We have seen Nokia teasing its Nokia X in a Green coloured image with the letter X in it before its launch in the MWC and now the company has posted a new teaser image on their blog with a tagline of GREEN WITH ENCY. This obliviously indicates that the successor of the Nokia X is going to be launched on 24th of this month at 12.30 PM IST as per the countdown timer that has been posted.
We are not sure what this device will be called, will it be Nokia X2 or something else? More over the so called Nokia X2 has appeared on the Chinese website last month and the specifications also got leaked at the AnTuTu benchmarks after that. According the rumors that came up earlier, the device will be coming with a 4.3 inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolutions and will run Nokia X software platform that is based on AOSP Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Moreover it will be powered by a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocking at 1.2 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM. There is a 5 MP rear facing camera with Flash and VGA camera on the front for video calling. The on-board memory of the device is at a 4 GB that can be extended via microSD card slot. The device will be supporting Dual SIM and this time you can find a dedicated home button that was missing on its predecessor.
We do not know the exact specifications of this device and to know all the details like the pricing and specifications, we need to wait until 24th of this month where the device will be unveiled.
