The Samsung GamePad, which was very much hyped in March along with the unveiling of Galaxy S4, is ready to be released finally. The GamePad has a steel frame and plastic outside has a directional pad, two analog sticks, four face buttons and two shoulder triggers.
This new Smartphone GamePad looks like the previous model except for the white shell and colorful accents that are no more. It comes in all black with metallic accents throughout and has an arm that is capable of extending to hold a device up to 6.3 inches.
It can handle devices ranging from 4 inches to 6.3 inches that run on Jellybean and later OS. The play button on the controller will launch the company’s new Mobile Console app on certain Samsung devices. Samsung says that there are 35 dedicated games with Need for Speed Most Wanted and Prince of Persia leading away. If things go right, we might be seeing more of such games in the time ahead, and this could be a perfect replacement to the handheld consoles like the PSP, but you shouldn’t be expecting more than that as the actual gaming consoles provide a flawless experience with the game performance, and the GamePad is no where going to give an added advantage to the performance of the games.
Compatibility of the Samsung GamePad would be with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and later, and the connectivity is through Bluetooth 3.0, NFC and there is a Rechargeable 160mA battery in it. The dimensions of the GamePad are 137.78 x 86.47 x 31.80mm and it would weigh 195gm.
The GamePad is available in currently available in selected European markets and will be available soon in the other regions coming weeks. There is no conformation on the pricing of it yet.
