Swipe Sense SmartPhone Hands-On & Initial Impressions

Swipe Sense is a new device from Swipe Technologies that was launched few weeks back, and it has been included in the phablet series. This device comes with Android KitKat operating system out of the box and comes with a fingerprint scanner on its rear. The device will be the cheapest smartphone in the market with a fingerprint scanner as it is priced at Rs. 9999.

The Swipe Sense comes with a big 5.5 inch qHD display and will run the latest Android 4.4. KitKat operating system out of the box. Below are all the specifications of this device. The CEO of swipe said that the device is designed as keeping our tradition of ensuring affordability and will add be adding an extra layer of security, packing multimedia and social media features.

The Sense is powered with a quad core 1.3 GHz processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM and has 8 GB of on-board memory. The device has an 8 MP rear facing camera with LED flash just below the camera and below that is a finger print scanner. The front facing camera is at 3.2 MP and it has the normal connectivity options like, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and USB OTG. To powere the device there is removal 2250 mAh battery on the back of the device.

Coming to the design of the Swipe Sense, the device is bar shaped with sharp edges and has very thin bezels to the sides. The bezels on top and bottom are also not wasted much as the top position of the bezel is filled with the earpiece and to the right of it there is a 3.2 MP front facing camera. There is also a sensor beside the front facing camera, to read the gestures. At the bottom, we can find the normal three capacitive touch screen buttons on to the bezels. To the right of the device the power button is placed, and the volume rockers can be found to the left.

At the top of the device, we can find a 3.5 mm audio jack, beside which there is a USB port for charging the device, and to transfer the data. At the bottom, there is just a dedicated mic. At the back of the device, we can find the 8 MP camera just above the LED flash and below these there is a fingerprint reader. The Fingerprint reader goes beyond just security, as we can assign a different task to launch for every finger on your hand. So that you can easily manage your device without wasting much time for finding your app or anything else. At the rear, there is the Company’s branding at the branding at the bottom, and the name of the device is in the middle. The speaker grills can be found at the bottom just below the company’s branding.

 

The Sense also comes with an innovative gesture control mechanism that lets users control their phone just by using gestures. We can even design your gestures and assign them to the task of the phone. These Gestures works, even when the screen is off as the sensor technology on the device is always on. The device supports dual SIM, and the SIM slots are just above the battery. The back cover of the device is removable below which there is a 2250 mAh battery powering the device. Apart from there, the device supports OGT and has the connectivity’s like 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Interface on the Sense is decent enough, and we have two screens. We also have the option of adding widgets and adding the wallpapers just by long tapping on the screen. The device is pretty good considering its pricing and we will be coming with a complete review after using the device for few days. The device comes in Black colour and is available for Rs. 9,999.
