After launching Asus ZenPad 8 (Z380M) and ZenPad 10 (Z300M) tablets that came with latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Taiwanese company has today launched three smartphones at the Zenvolution Press Conference event at the Computex 2016. It is under Zenfone series called as Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra. These smartphones are the successor of the last year’s Zenfone series handsets that came with refreshed design and good specifications. The company has come up with the improved hardware specifications such as USB Type-C port, Fingerprint sensor and runs on latest Android software which is Marshmallow out of the box.
Asus Zenfone 3
The Zenfone 3 smartphone features glossy unibody finish with the metal frame around it’s sides. It sports a 2.5D curved 5.5-inch IPS FHD display that is 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and offers 401 PPI of pixel density. Under the hood, It comes powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset, which is an Octa-core processor from Qualcomm, clocking at 2.0GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU.
The device has 3 GB / 4GB RAM and 3 GB / 64 GB inbuilt storage options that is further expandable via microSD slot. It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with Laser Autofocus, OIS and f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel front snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 88-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video chats. It comes packed with 3000 mAh battery, which is touted as more than a day of usage.
The handset supports dual SIM and dual standby and offers 4G LTE. Connectivity options include USB Type-C port and Fingerprint sensor. The Zenfone 3 smartphone will be available in Gold, Black, and White color options. It is priced at $249 (approximately Rs. 16750) for 3 GB RAM variant.
Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe
It sports 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The device comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset which is a Quad-core processor paired with Adreno 530 GPU. It features a massive 6 GB RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB / 256 GB inbuilt storage options; it can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot. There is also available and offers connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type C 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 and A-GPS.
The device bears a 23 MP primary camera with Sony IMX318 sensor and 6P lens that is protected by Sapphire glass. The other specifications of the device remain same on the Zenfone 3 smartphone. It will be available in Grey, Silver and Gold color options. The Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe smartphone is priced at $499 (approximately Rs. 33570) for 6 GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage.
Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra
The Zenfone 3 Ultra smartphone has a similar design of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe and screen bumped upto 6.8-inch LCD with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and offers a pixel density of 323 PPI. Under the hood, it relies on Snapdragon 652 Octa-core processor clocks at 1.8 GHz clubbed with Adreno 510 GPU. It features a 23-megapixel primary camera with 4-axis OIS which is the same camera available on Zenfone 3 deluxe and is powered by a massive 4,600mAh capacity battery.
Connectivity Options of the device includes USB Type-C 3.0 port with the support of Display Port and Quick Charge 3.0. It houses a 64 GB / 128 GB storage which can be further expandable via microSD card slot and 4GB RAM. The Zenfone 3 Ultra Smartphone comes in Pink, Silver, and Grey color options and is priced at $479 (approximately Rs. 32224) for 4 GB RAM with 64GB ROM variant.
