Pre Requisites:
- It’s very important to maintain a minimum battery power of 50% so as to facilitate the smoother rooting process or else there is a high possibility that your device may end up turning completely off in the process of rooting.
- In an unlikely event you may lose all the data which is present in your Galaxy S, so it’s recommended to create a backup of all the data like call log, messages, applications, music, videos and other data which is present in the phone, so that you can restore the same once the rooting process is completed.
- Last but not the least follow the below mentioned instructions carefully so as to save your phone from being turned into an expensive paper weight.
Turn Off Gaining S:
Note: So, before you proceed for Gaining S-Off, you will have to boot your HTC Incredible S in the HBOOT mode which can be done by booting the device in the bootloader by first powering off the device and then back to the power by holding the Volume down button along with the Power button till it enters into the desired mode.
- First up you will have to download the HTC Sync in your Windows desktop or laptop and also you will have to install the HTC Sync in your computer. After the installation of this gets done, you will have to uninstall the HTC Sync which you have installed but make sure that you don’t remove the drivers as only for drivers we had installed the HTC Sync in the computer.
- Now, next up you will have to disable the fastboot mode which can be done by going to the Settings > Power > Fastboot.
- After this, you will have to make sure that the USB Debugging is enabled in your HTC Incredible S which can be done from the path Settings » Applications » Development » USB debugging.
- As soon as you enable the USB debugging mode, you will have to now download the Alpha Rev X beta. Please note that as soon as you click on the link to download you will have to wait till the form pops up where you need to enter some details so as to generate the Key, which is as shown below.
- Now, at this point of time, you will have to connect your HTC Incredible S to your computer or Laptop with the help of the USB cable. Now, you will have to launch the Alpha Rev X Beta and then you will see that the HTC Incredible S along with the serial number of the device.
- After you see the serial number, you will have to again go back to that form to enter the serial number of the device to get the beta key.
- Once you are done with the procedure, you will get the beta Key, now go back to Alpha Rev X and enter in the beta key minding that the key contains both upper- and lower-case letters.
- You will now see that the Alpha Rev X will attempt to temporary root the HTC Incredible S as it sets off the device and you will see that the device will be rebooting and the whole process will take around 5 – 10 minutes. Please note that if the whole process takes more than 15 minutes then reboot the device again, you may even have to sometimes reboot the device multiple times to finish the procedure.
