Galaxy Fit S5670

Samsung Galaxy Fit Unboxing & Review – Features & Specs

The Samsung Galaxy Fit is a mid-range Android phone with things that are comparable to the Samsung Galaxy 3 and the Ace, but doesn’t fit ahead of the Galaxy Ace. Galaxy Mini too can be confused with the Fit, but the Fit (which was earlier called the Galaxy Suit) is quite larger than the Mini. Coded as the S5670, it is a 3.3-inch screen device with a decent camera of 5-Megapixel quality but the price could be called under budget when the specifications are compared with other devices which are priced higher with stuff almost the same.

Lets go on with the review of the Galaxy Fit Mobile Phone –

Design of the Galaxy Fit

Unchanged trend of the Galaxy devices, the front comes with a single press button in the bottom with 2 touch-sensitive keys on the either sides. From the side view, it is flat with no irregularities or bulges, so a neatly made design having the 3.3-inch touchscreen and the back part having a 5-MP camera and a speaker. The sides have the similar sections and keys just like that of most of the other Galaxy phones, and the top has the sliding jacket to open/close the USB port for connecting the USB cord or the charging cord. The TFT capacitive touchscreen gives a pretty neat quality of picture, and the touch response is pretty impressive.

Operating System, Interface and Internal Specs of Galaxy Fit

The Galaxy Fit comes with the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, and has a 600 MHz processor, which we found a little less as the performance got slower with multiple app usage and switching. Navigating on the home screen and the app pages is fast enough, but gets slower when the apps are actually opened and the running apps are switched. For a 600MHz processor, the Froyo is still a pretty good OS version, which can hold the basic functionality without making the users wait for a few seconds for the next function to happen.

The phone has the accelerometer sensor, the proximity sensor and the TouchWiz v3.0 user interface to make the user experience better. The other basic functionality of the phone is as the other Android phones. The Galaxy Fit comes with an internal memory of 160MB, and there is a 2GB MicroSD card given in the pack, while you have an option to expand the memory to 32GB.

Camera of the Galaxy Fit

Just a copy of the camera of the Galaxy S, a 5-Megapixel one but without a flash. The picture quality given for near objects in bright environment is pretty fine and comparable to the 5-megapixel camera of other smartphones. It has the autofocus and the picture resolution is 2592х1944 pixels. There is a single camera on the back side and there is no front camera. The video recording cannot be called a good one, as the 15fps recording blurs the video a bit. The resolution of the picture taken, and the dimension ratio can be well changed, and there is a photo editor to make any good changes to the pictures captured.

Connectivity, Memory of the Galaxy Fit

The Galaxy Fit is another Android phone with a wide range of connectivity options, which include the 3G HSDPA, the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 via the MicroUSB slot. The 3G data network usage is pretty good, and the page load in the default Android browser in the Fit is quite speed. You should still try the Opera Mini for Android for a better speed and usage of the internet in the Galaxy Fit.

Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and the phone can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot sharing the 3G connection with the surrounding Wi-Fi enabled devices, this being of the standard features of the Android phones.
The phone comes with the 1350mAh battery, which is good enough for a phone which doesn’t have the best screen and graphics, and the Li-ion battery would last for a good number of hours when being used moderately, not while being tested.

Final Words

The Galaxy Fit, not one of the best Android smartphones out there, but a lot better compared to the Galaxy 3, and can compete well with the best mid-range phone in the market, Galaxy Ace. The 3.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, the 5-MP camera and the Android interface is all pretty good for the price tag of INR 11,000 when you are paying quite higher for a little better specs and design for the Galaxy Ace. Another phone in the competition where the Galaxy Fit beats the latter pretty well is the Galaxy Mini, so you have a better option in a list of competitors.
The touch response being quite good, you can choose this phone with it’s Froyo 2.2 operating system, and can update to the latest Gingerbread version.
