It seems like mobile brands love the number 7, as this year, they’re naming their handsets around that. Today, ZTE, the Chinese smartphone maker has introduced a handset called Axon 7, which is a successor to the flagship model Axon launched last year. Samsung has Galaxy S7, which was launched earlier this year, and then there is an upcoming iPhone 7 that we would see this year. Also, if you didn’t know the South Korean giant will be jumping from Note 5 to Note 7, skipping Galaxy Note 6.
The ZTE Axon 7 smartphone features a 2.5D 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution which is offering a pixel density of 534ppi and a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood, It relies on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocks at 2.15 GHz clubbed with Adreno 530 Graphics. It comes powered by MiFavor 4.0 UI based on latest Android Marshmallow out of the box with preloaded applications.
Cameras are concerned, it has a 20-megapixel primary camera with aperture f/1.8, Samsung Isocell sensor, sapphire lens and dual LED flash which is capable of record videos upto 2160p at 30 frames per second and an 8-megapixel front shooter with the wide-angle lens for taking selfies and video chats. There are two variants of the device includes 64 GB storage with 4GB RAM and 128 GB storage with 6 GB of RAM. It is further expandable upto 128GB via microSD card slot.
It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE. Connectivity options include 3GHSPA+, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB Type-C port, NFC and GPS. The highlights of the device are, it has dual speakers with Dolby sound system and Hi-Fi 2.0 based on AK4961 and AK4490 chips.
The Axon 7 smartphone comes with an aluminium unibody and power button along with the volume rockers are placed on the right side. It Features a Finger sensor is setting on the rear side and is powered by a non-removable 3140 mAh battery for fast charging with the help of Quick Charge 3.0. Measuring the dimensions of the handset includes 154 x 77 x 9.8 mm and weight is around 175 grams.
The ZTE Axon 7 smartphone is priced at 3099 Yuan for 64 GB storage with 4 GB RAM, 3299 Yuan for 128 GB memory with 4 GB RAM and 4099 Yuan for 128 GB ROM with 6 GB RAM. It also announced the company’s VR handset named as ZTE VR priced at 518 Yuan. This new handset launched under Axon series will be available in Grey and Gold colour options, and will start shipping from June 2nd via JD.com.
