  1. Download the APK file of Android Market from Android Apps Labs.
  2. Now you need to get your USB connection established with your PC in order to transfer downloaded Market APK to your phone memory. Click on the APK file from your phoneand it would be automatically installed.
  3. Restart your phone and you can use the Android Market latest version on your phone.
  4. To verify the Market version on your phone, go to Menu > Settings > Applications and look for Market, tap on it and it will show you the version of Market which you are using.

    Currently i am using 3.1.5 market on GT I9003, but whenever i am uninstalling – It again installs automatically and i am not able to install Market 3.1.6.

    I am having some problem with market 3.1.5 – while updating the applications it shows white screen and not able to update the same.

      Then your phone might not be able to install 3.1.6.

      you need to move the app from the “manage applications” option!

    I copied it to my phone, and clicked it to install, and same as above, it did not install.
    I even tried rebooting the phone, stopping the Market applicaion, and then installing again. No luck.

    Seems to me they would have an automatic update for this since it is the preferred way to get apps for the device.

    Help please??

    So if we just wait awhile, Market will update itself to 3.1.6. I’m happy to wait. I don’t care for the “new” look anyway.

    I downloaded the APK file directly to my my Samsung Galaxy I9000, but I got the same “Not installed” message. Would really appreciate your help.

    The Market mention cannot be install on my HTC Sensation. Also I check my version is 2.3.4 not 3.1.5.

    I’m having the same problem. I have the APK file on my VZW Galaxy Tab, but it won’t install. I have tried using root explorers, Astro, Es, Titan, Room Toolbox and others. Acts like it is installing, but comes back with “Did Not Install”.

    Anybody else having better luck?

    Hi friends,
    Failed to install the new version of Android Market even by downloading the ‘Android Market v3.1.6.apk’ directly to the phone or to the PC as mentioned here and copied to phone. The phone tries to install it and gives the response:’Application not installed’. What could be the problem? Any solution?

    I got this suggest on a forum, it worked fine. Just went to Menu > Settings > Application > Marker (older version), and clicked on clear data. Then when I restarted the market, it automatically got updated to V 3.1.6..

    I’m still stuck I tried installing with Astro, Explorer, Drop Box. It won’t install. Your answer is appreciated. What am I doing wrong? Please be a little more expansive. Thank you.

      there are some issues with select devices as its not getting installed! We are looking into this!

    I had this Interface new look of Android market already but the build version is 3.15..

    Does the Android Market update itself automatically or we have to update manually?

    I downloaded the APK file to the PC, plugged in the Droid Charge USB and it first installed the USB Driver the Charge. Then I clicked on the APK file and Windows says it does not know how to open it. I thought you said it would instantly transfer on its own? Please advise.

        Now, I copied it through Dropbox to the phone but when I execute it on the phone side it stops and says installation not installed. Can you tell me how your way?
        This phone is new to me (Droid Charge) Thanks for all your help!

    hey guys…i tried the 1st market update and there was a glitch in it in which it would say certain apps were not compatible withmy phone when in fact they were. i had to go back to the old market app to install them.

    have u heard this b4 and do u think ill have the same issues with this new update? btw ive got a rooted evo shift running gb

    I downloaded the new android market 316 saved it to my memory card installed it using root explorer and no luck. I keep getting app not installed. I also saved the app within my dropbox account and tried installing it ota and no luck. I restarted my phone and still the same.

    HTC EVO 4G running Gingerbread.

    The market 3.1.6 is not installing on my SGS on Amesteris 4.0CR3. Even when I uninstall the earlier downloaded 3.1.5 the new one is just not installing. Please check it out
