We understand that all your messages are precious, but while rooting the phone or say when you apply any firmware all your messages gets erased. But not anymore as all thanks to a brilliant application which is developed by Ritesh Sahu which is named as “SMS Back & Restore”. This application does it what it’s said to be as it not only backs up the sms but also this application can restore all your sms messages. So, in the due course of this article we will see on how you can back up as well as restore all you r text messages in just one file which is in the xml file format.
This application is a very simple application and lets see on how you can use it. Also, at the end of this article we will see a short video on how to backup and also the direct apk file of SMS Backup and Restore. There are two versions of this application, the free one and the paid one which is the ad free and is dubbed as the SMS Backup and Restore Pro version.
Procedure to Backup and Restore SMS in your Android phone:
- First up you need to download the SMS Backup & Restore application from the latest version of Android Market Place 3.3.12 or from the Android Apps Labs in your phone. Once you are done with the installation, you now need to open the same from the list of applications.
- So, once you open the application you can now proceed to select the option of “Backup” and as soon as you select this option, all the messages are backed up as shown in the below screen capture.
- Now at this point of time, if you want to restore the backup of messages taken then all you need to do is to just open the app, tap on the option of “restore” and then select the backup file which you need to restore the backup as shown in the below screen capture.
- Also, apart from the above options you can also choose from the host of other options which are mentioned as shown in the below image. The best part is that you can also choose from the scheduling the backup and also you can choose from host of other options.
So, in this way you can easily backup and restore all the sms which are there in your phone. So, next time when you are updating the firmware or rooting the firmware then the first thing which you need to do is to back up the message.
