Yes, it will restore your messages as originally sent/received (date, time, from & to etc), works extremely fine. I have personally tried it (on thread view) and results are superb.

Salam … I did not try this app yet .. but I just wanna thank you for your efforts .. and there is one thing i wanna ask you about to help me in .. I tried to root my SG2 (GT-I9100G) and when I connect with USB my phone cannot be recognized by the computer because of the driver which I couldn’t find in the net .. I found an article that said I should install the PCsuit, and I did but that couldn’t solve the problem. any help? thanks for your efforts again 🙂

This app works well with my Samsung Galaxy Fit SG5670. Backup, restore, send to email functions work well. Compatibility with phone is always a matter for users to check before installing any apps or widgets.

    Dear Neal,
As you said if we backed up SMS and later when we update or root the device, will the app itself not be deleted from the device? In this case how can we restore it?

    Thank you,
    Mahmud K

Backups are created in XML Format on the SD Card. Once you update or root your phone, app will be deleted from the device but once the update is done, reinstall the application and import the message XML file.
