We have seen the Knock code feature coming up with the LG G Pro 2 that was unveiled at the MWC 2014 held last month in Spain. Now LG has announced that it will be bringing this new feature to its other earlier launched Smart phones with a firmware update that will be starting in the month of April. This Knock code is a unique feature that will be letting you to unlock your Smart phone with a customized knock pattern.

This feature is already present in the F series, L Series III devices and also in the LG G2 mini. The company noted that the LG G2 and G Flex users will be receiving this Knock code update first, in selected countries and later it will roll out to other devices. The company introduced the KockOn feature in the LG that was invented long back in the year 2008, that provides more convenience and greater security over the other password and pattern based security passwords.

LG explained in details, how this Knock Code feature work – Smartphone display is divided into four invisible quadrants. User taps or “knocks” anywhere from two to eight times in the quadrants in a specific sequence. With more than 80,000 possible combinations and no fingerprint streaks, Knock Code offers a level of security far greater than other devices, even those with fingerprint recognition systems. And because Knock Code can be implemented anywhere on the screen in any size without having to view the screen, there’s no chance of password theft.

We are not sure of the exact date of the roll out, but the company has said that it will be starting in the month of April. So do you own a LG Smart phone?
