LG has launched the LG G3, this year’s flagship with some brilliant specifications. We know that the LG G2 was one of the best devices last year, and thus the question for this year would be – will LG G3 come up to the expectation? Is it a worthy upgrade over its predecessor? Design and Dimensions
The design of these devices have are almost the same, with the rear mounted volume rocker buttons but the G3 has its buttons pushed a bit inside so that it won’t have bulky feel. The thickness of both the devices same at 8.9 mm and the LG G 3 weights litter heavier (6 grams) than the 143 grams LG G2. LG used the same True HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touchscreen on both the devices. In terms of the form factor LG has retained the same design and look on G3 as it was on the LG G2.

Display
The LG G3 has a bigger display of 5.5 inch that is 0.3 inch bigger than its predecessor. The main thing that is to notice here is the resolution of the LG G3 that flaunts a 2K display (2560 x 1440) giving a pixel density of 534 ppi that is way better than the 423 ppi that we have seen on the LG G2.
The G2 has the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, whereas the LG G3 gets the protection of the latest Gorilla Glass 3 that gives better protection from scratches.

Internal Specifications
The LG G2 is powered by a Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocking at 2.26 GHz, coupled with Adreno 300 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. The flagship model will be having the same Quad core processor with a better Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, with litter faster clocking speeds at 2.5 GHz. Moreover the G3 is available in 2 GB as well as 3 GB RAM models depending on the market. The LG G3 will come out of the box with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and G2 has received the update of the same.

Camera / Storage
The company has used the same 13 MP rear camera on both the devices but the G3 get a laser autofocus that will allow the device to focus instantly. The front facing camera is also same at 2.1 MP and the main part here is that LG G3 is capable of 4K video recording and it also has dual LED.
The LG G 2 was available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants and didn’t feature a microSD card slot to extend the memory, but it’s the case with the LG G3, it has a microSD card to extend the memory up to 128 GB and will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants.

Connectivity/ Battery
Both the devices have the same set of connectivity’s and will be powered by the same 3000 mAh battery. The battery in the G2 cannot be removed but this time with G3 you have the luxury of removing the battery and change it, just in case if you want.

Conclusion
Well from the specifications we have seen, we can say that the G3 is definitely an improvement over the G2 in terms of the display size and resolutions that will be giving better viewing angles on a bigger display and also is powered with a better chipset. In the camera segments, there are small tweaks and even the battery is removable in the case of the flagship model.
The LG G3 is definitely an upgrade over the G2 but what about the pricing, we have not yet received any news about the pricing of the G3 and unless we get the pricing we cannot suggest anything. If pricing doesn’t matter, then you can definitely go for the flagship model.
