Bravia Smart Stick

SONY introduces “Bravia Smart Stick” powered by Android OS – Details

While Google TV is still not dead, it may return as early as in the next Google event that is what we are hearing the rumors as of now. After the initial version of Logitech Revue which was pitched as the Official Google TV, Google has unfortunately never expressed their seriousness about the same. After the recent launch of Chromecast Dongle which caters to the screen mirroring lovers, its high time that Google should think of coming up with new variant of Google TV / Google HDMI Stick. In the latest, SONY has come up with an all new smart HDMI stick dubbed as “Bravia Smart Stick”.

Sony Bravia Smart Stick

When this Bravia Smart Stick is plugged into the SONY TV, the smart stick adds all the Google TV features like Cable / Satellite TV Integration along with the Google Chrome browser and Google PLAY Store. This new smart stick also ropes in the “picture – in – Picture” which allows viewers to surf the web and watch TV, side by side. This smart stick comes with Pre-installed apps include Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Amazon Prime Instant Video, and YouTube — and others can be downloaded from Google Play. There are already many HDMI Sticks based on Android OS but unfortunately lacks the kind of polished UI and UX when compared to the likes of the products from Samsung, SONY and LG or for say Logitech for an example.

The pricing and availability details are not yet available but as in when it’s available, we will keep you posted about the same only at androidadvices.

Though it’s still not sure on whether this smart stick will work for Non SONY TV Sets or not but this seems to be an impressive looking HDMI Stick which is the most forward thinking yet by SONY 😉
